Most of the features and services that Dynamics 365 is proving are truly exceptional however the initial setup of this system is a little complex especially for smaller businesses. Some processes and configurations require advanced technical knowledge or even external consultant support during the time of extra customization.

Good product with challenges to get the most out of it
Some elements are outstanding and some are ok/below par. Support for the product is not great - hard work, repetitive and often lacking with the in depth responses you might expect especially when paying additional for elevated (unified) support. Technical expertise we have been able to access has alleviated some of the support issues and provided much more in terms of knowledge and advice - excellent. Licensing and usage is extremely complex leading to a number of additional costs, meaning it feels expensive. The modules occasionally do not go far enough for the needs of the business and you have to purchase additional software to handle this There are some elements that we cannot do or are limited in doing compared to our previous AX12 on premise experience. Performance tuning, storage, archiving and retrieval as examples. To mitigate this we do use a vertical which allows us to do rental which adds to come of the complexity of the above.
