Main Pros of Dynamic 365 Finance: 1) Deep financial controls, audit trails, and compliance features that payroll teams rely on for accuracy and reconciliation. 2) Strong integration with HR time, and third-party payroll engines through Microsoft's ecosystem and APIs 3) Excellent reporting and analytics via Power BI, especially for Payroll cost analysis and labor expenses tracking.
The robustness of the financial module and the control it offers are excellent. Furthermore, the integration with the ecosystem is a major plus; having everything in Power BI is truly an extremely positive aspect.
I love the multi-entity accounting and how simple bank recons have become because of the seamless integration with our bank. It's a one stop shop because it connects with the other microsoft ecosystem such as excel, power BI, teams etc.
Cons: 1) Payroll functionality is not native or fully out-of-the-box in many regions, requiring partners or external payroll systems. 2) Configuration and customization can be complex and often requires specialized consultants 3) User experience for payroll operations is less intuitive compared to dedicated HCM/payroll platforms
The support is tedious; it takes days to get a response. Thousands of emails, calls... This needs to be improved: integrate an AI support chat or something similar.
Sometimes it's hard to get a hold of customer service
