Smarter asset control and operational efficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management

    5.0
    Mar 9, 2026
As our manufacturing operations expanded and asset management became complex, implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain proved to be a major turning point. The platform has enabled us to manage production assets, maintenance workflows, inventory and operational processes within a single, connected ecosystem, helping us build a more agile, resilient and data driven manufacturing environment. Since we implemented it, maintenance planning and asset monitoring has become more proactive, contributing to a nearly 31% improvement in operational efficiency. Also the end to end visibility into equipment performance and raw material utilization has supported approximately 19% gains in production quality and yield. This is because better tracking of asset utilization and maintenance schedules, help us detect and resolve issues earlier thus improving overall equipment effectiveness and minimizing downtimes across our production and dispatch lines.

One of the most valuable aspects of Microsoft Dynamic 365 Supply Chain Management is its inbuilt AI, ML and IoT capabilities, which allow us to monitor and manage manufacturing assets in an intelligent and connected way. This technologies provide real time insights into equipment performance and shop floor activities, enabling proactive maintenance planning and overall equipment efficiency. Another standout capability is the embedded analytics powered by Microsoft Power BI. The dashboards provide clear visualization and realtime operational insights across production assets, warehouses and inventory system, helping our team to quickly identify operational trends, monitor asset use and optimize manufacturing workflow. Additionally the AI powered forecasting and intelligent planning tools help us anticipate maintenance requirements, manage spare parts effectively and align asset availability with production demand. Lastly we appreciate the end to end operational integration the platform provides. Maintenance management, procurement, warehousing and logistics are well connected in one platform, making it easier to coordinate maintenance schedules, automate procurement and maintain better collaboration with suppliers and service vendors

Dislike

The only thing that I did not enjoy about this was the lengthy implementation and configuration to other platforms. It was easy, just very time-consuming, particularly for an organization like mine with a lot of highly customized workflows.
