The cost and performance. Our FAS is saving us each and everyday on storage. For a company that deals in storage one would think they would want you to buy more and more, but with their products like StorageGrid and the FAS we are saving more and more which helps lower our annual spend.
It's reliability. It just chugs along without needing constant oversight and maintenance.
All the features are rolled up into a single license. You get all the services available on the array included with the license and do not need to purchase any additional licenses for access to these features.

Customer support is not really great.
Ontap software is very feature rich and customizable which in turn does increase the complexity of day to day management. The learning curve is a bit steeper than other storage vendors I've worked with.
