My overall experience with NetApp FAS has been really positive. It is a reliable platform, easy to manage, and works as you would expect from a modern enterprise storage system. The implementation and setup process is really quick. NetApp support is very responsive and helpful whenever issues arise.

NetApp FAS has very reliable and efficient storage performance as it handles the workloads without any hassle. It has built-in features like deduplication and compression, so you can automatically save space without putting in any extra effort. NetApp FAS setup process is straight forward, you don't need to spend a lot of time getting started. Day-to-day management is also very smooth, and if you ever need any support, the support team is quick to respond. NetApp continues to improve its platform when it comes to security.

All the features are rolled up into a single license. You get all the services available on the array included with the license and do not need to purchase any additional licenses for access to these features.

While NetApp support is helpful, sometimes the support team can take longer to resolve complex issues. It asks for the additional cost foe certain features.

Mirroring solutions like Snapmirror and Snapvault have issues when it runs into failures Quota and NFS access config management is based on editing the config files which can be error prone DR maintenance is tedious for 7 mode systems IO contention issues when HDD drives are in use

Ontap software is very feature rich and customizable which in turn does increase the complexity of day to day management. The learning curve is a bit steeper than other storage vendors I've worked with.

Overall experience has been very positive. The Netapp FAS series has been very reliable from both a hardware and software perspective. The Ontap OS is very feature rich for both SAN and NAS workloads with great integration with multiple cloud providers.
