One of the maion strenghts of o9 is its ability to support integrated planning across multiple domains in a single platform. Demand, supply, and financial planning can be connected through a common data model, which helps reduce handoffs and inconsistencies between planning steps. Another key strenght is the flexibility of the platform. o9 allows planning logic, data structures, and workflows to be configured to reflect complex and evolving business requirements, which is imnportant for organizations with non-standard planning processes. A further advantage is the transparency of the planning logic once the models are set up. Compared to spreadsheet-based approaches, this supports more structured discussions and clearer alignment across functions on how plans are generated and where constraints or trade-offs exist.
The process flow and it is linking to each process orchestration. Post game analysis which is giving more insight about the trend and forecast accuracy results.
It's very flexible as a product - very user friendly interface. Automated processes work well. Relatively quick to onboard new users to the product.
The main drawbacks are the level of complexity and the effort required to design and maintain robust models, escpecially early in the implementation. The solution is highly dependent on data quality and clear master data ownership, which can slow progress if governance is not well established. Udability and performance can vary depending on configuration and design choices, meaning outcomes are strongly influenced by implementation quality.
The limitation in data ingestion and its flexibility because of the hierarchy rule. The UI also limits the number of row lines visible. Global filters are also not user friendly because it takes some time to check all the dimensions to be able to reset all the filters. Favorite Views is also not working as expected. The tool speed and performance are not in the ideal stage, it takes a few seconds to open some UI with more filters or attributes open.
There are some staple forecasting and replenishment capabilities that should be native out of the box that are not, including full long range inventory projections (in our instance at least). Lack of scenario planning as well.

Overall, our experience with o9 has been positive, but with clear learning curve. The platform is powerful and well suited for integrated planning across multiple domains (demand, supply, and financial planning), and it provides strong capabilities for scenario analysis and end-to-end visibility that were difficult with legacy tools. What has worked well is the flexibility of the platform and it's ability to model complex planning logic in a single environment. Once the core data models and processes were defined, it became easier to align different planning areas and have more structured, transparent decissions around scenarios and trade-offs. At the same time, implementation requieres significant upfront effort. Data readiness, master data alignment, and clear ownership of processes are critical, and the level of complexity means that strong governance and experienced implementation resources are needed. Progress and usability depend heavily on design decisions made eary on. As a partner, o9 has excelled in collaborative work. They have always been quick to develop and implement ad-hoc fixes and changes as required. They are solution oriented - and ready to work with the business. Platform reliability has greatly improved over the 5 years - initially there were issues but after a few years, cycles, and fixes we have seen great stability.
