VMware Horizon® Cloud on Microsoft Azure is a VMware managed Desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) that delivers virtual desktops and applications directly from a Microsoft Azure subscription with all the benefits of VMware Horizon®, including simplified management and integration with existing systems, enhanced remote experiences, intrinsic security, and a native cloud architecture. Eligible customers can leverage benefits of Azure Virtual Desktop—Windows 10 Enterprise multisession, extended security updates for Windows 7, and more—to deliver a secure remote work platform for cost-effective, increased user productivity.

After the split from VMWare things were a little rocky. Now that they've found their footing, things are much better and responsiveness regarding the product has truly improved.

Issues Linger from VMware to Omnissa Acquisition Conversion

The acquisition has not been a smooth transition. We continue to experience issues in the conversion that Omnissa has had to resort to engaging Broadcom on. Our services are not yet fully resolved and prod'n functional. They broke during the acquisition and continue to just function.

    Over the 10 years the product has grown significantly. The biggest advantage of Omnissa is the fact that it focusses entirely on the EUC market. This was different when the EUC division was part of VMware.

    Why Omnissa is a Game-Changer for VDI Monitoring and Management

    I have been responsible for managing VDI and I have been using Omnissa from VMware, and it has truly a great product for VDI. It's superior in monitoring and management across our environment. Honestly Right from the beginning, we found the Omnissa interface to be very clean and super intuitive. For example, navigating through the different features is seamless, which made the onboarding process quick for us which made our company love it. I have to say that the dashboard presents relevant metrics and alerts in a visually appealing way, allowing me to monitor system health at a glance without having to dig through so many different tabs. I also want to mention that Omnissa excels in providing a very comprehensive visibility into our virtual infrastructure (VDI). It made it so much better where we can easily track resource usage, performance metrics, and even potential issues before they escalate. This level of monitoring has been crucial in maintaining optimal performance across our VMs and ensuring minimal downtime which saved a ton of money in operational costs and customer satisfaction.
