Oracle is a cloud technology company that offers computing infrastructure and software solutions globally. This organization has developed an autonomous database, the first of its kind, to help manage and secure data. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure presents functionalities to facilitate the transition of workloads from on-site systems to the cloud, and vice versa, as well as between different clouds. Oracle's cloud software applications provide modern tools designed to support sustainable growth and resilience in businesses. Tools developed by Oracle are used by a wide range of users including nonprofit organizations and businesses of various sizes, to aid in operations like supply chain streamlining, human resource management, financial planning and connecting data and global users. Apart from business solutions, Oracle's technology also aids in tasks ranging from government defense to scientific and medical research.

What I like most about Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is the performance you get for the price. The compute and network performance have been consistently strong, especially for workloads that are sensitive to latency or throughput, and it never felt like we were being nickel-and-dimed for basic features. The pricing is more predictable compared to some other clouds, which made cost planning a lot easier. I also appreciate how solid the core infrastructure feels once its running. We had very few stability issues, and things like block storage and networking just worked without much ongoing maintenance. It feels very much built for serious, production workloads rather than just quick experiments or demos.
OCI is by far the most affordable option, and being a newer service doesn't have any problems due to legacy systems sticking around before cloud developed while still having all the services you would expect.
Support for different types of databases makes the connection seamless. Oracle has been one of the biggest database platforms for quite a while now and the connection we currently have is truly efficient. The security pack is builtin the plan you take out which is a great way to impress a customer, we were impressed, I can confirm. What we also liked is that the choice of either fully cloud, dedicated regions or hybrid cloud, feels like a solution for every kind of business
The biggest downside for me has been the learning curve, especially around networking and IAM. Some concepts are more rigid or structured differently compared to other clouds, and that can slow you down in the beginning if youre coming from AWS or Azure. Simple things sometimes take longer than expected until you fully understand how Oracle expects them to be set up. The console can also feel a bit cluttered and inconsistent. Certain settings are buried deeper than they should be, and switching between regions or services isnt always as smooth as Id like. Support is generally helpful, but response times can vary depending on the issue and support tier, which can be frustrating when youre dealing with something time-sensitive.
Being a newer and smaller service, OCI doesn't have as many third party integrations, fewer regional options for resiliency and services might not be fully available in every region yet.
New platform users might find it difficult to adopt quickly as the system itself is quite complicated so will require cloud infrastructure experts to introduce this into a new business. The ecosystem itself is a bit smaller compared to other rivals but still keeps this platform as abig player in the market
