Overall, this seems decent. It replaced a system that was very difficult to use and it's certainly better than that. However, there are certain things that are not at all intuitive, which can make things challenging.

We like the monthly updates and communications to keep us in the loop with latest features, we are always looking for ways to advance our business. Also appreciate the Oracle strategy to align with the back-end technology which is helping us knowledge share/workload balance. The Oracle technology continues to enable quality business solutions to meet our dynamic and changing business needs. It is flexible for our technical team to evolve application designs and straight forward for end users to model their analysis both in free-form and pre-defined formats. We also really appreciate Oracle's leading edge as AI capabilities continue to rollout with monthly patching cycles.

It consolidated several disparate systems for us.

Breadth of services, ease of integration and implementation, narrative reporting. You need to plan out what you ultimately would like, but once this step is determined, it is easy to implement the vision into reality. My finance team are the administrators of the system, none of us previously had this experience yet we have gained the knowledge to manage the system ourselves. With the SmartView interface, which allows the ability to pull data from Oracle via Microsoft products, its easy to retrieve data on the fly, quickly answering questions or easily analyzing data. Narrative reporting has made financial reporting quick and easy. We have used this extensively in building out our monthly reporting capabilities. We can easily scale a set of reports for multiple offices and practice groups, allowing our small group to have an outsized impact by not having to spend our time putting data together but rather allowing time to provide insights into the data. With the Workforce module, we have been able to create a more automated budget process customized to our needs, and with the use of forms and reports, we have created an improved user experience while reducing errors. Much of our processes, such as monthly reports can be automated which allows the team to focus our talents elsewhere.

My only complaint with the Oracle technology strategy is the feeling that the administration of the tool is being dumbed down. Proper administration of the applications requires visibility and depth of knowledge to execute well and troubleshoot effectively.

A few things are not very intuitive--e.g., how the help feature works.

Dislikes include the changing of contact support relatively quickly -- just when you get comfortable with someone and they begin to understand your needs, someone new takes over. Would like to more easily negotiate multi-year licensing agreements. While the reporting capabilities are pretty robust, would like additional capabilities, such as a type of 'vlookup' function.

Prior to Oracle we were using spreadsheets for monthly reporting, analysis and budgeting. Switched to Oracle due to it's ease of use, ease of implementation, and the ability to provide the tools we needed -- budgeting (headcount, expenses, revenue), data storage allowing for ease of retrieving and reporting tool that allows us to automate reports distributed throughout the firm. Significantly reducing time and errors in providing data to key personnel.

EPM has a great set of tools to start and build upon as a company works toward a more integrated financial planning process. While some of the coding and data processes aren't straightforward for a business owner, there are plenty of resources between Oracle and a large number of SIs in the marketplace to help fill that knowledge gap. If possible, I would suggest that there be in-house knowledge for EPM to best help speed implementation and allow for product improvement without spending money at the SIs for support. However, that isn't always possible and the SIs we have engaged with are well versed in the product and can help make those changes relatively quickly.

We use the tools for both Actuals collection relating to Sales and for our FP&A team as a primary reporting source. The systems work well, integrate well and deliver on our needs. The solution is both scalable and customizable to meet our needs.
