Since we have many regulated products, Oracle made it easy to use ECO-style workflows to manage and record changes to our products (fees, terms, etc.), make pricing updates, and change anything related to policy and procedure tied to those products. There was also a very clean separation of duties for product teams, compliance, and operations, which our audit people like to see. For anyone with heavy regulators and internal audits, this will be a huge win for you. It was also a plus that we already had the Fusion Financials, so it was a clean integration bringing in the PLM. I think this also helped make a smoother change management.
I like Oracle Fusion because it offers a flexible, scalable, and secure platform that enables me to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and access real-time data and insights.
The Digital Thread capability is a standout feature. Being able to link a customer driven innovation idea directly to an engineering item is extremely useful. The embedded quality management module allows us to trigger corrective actions easily.
There isn't a whole lot to dislike, but there are a few small quirks. For one, it seems to be made for a specific line of business (like a manufacturing company) when I think they would do well if they broadened their target audience a bit. It doesn't hinder the capabilities, but it would make it feel more personalized for me.
its lack of customization options
The user interface is click-heavy and less intuitive than modern SaaS competitors. Custom reporting via OTBI has a steep learning curve, often requiring technical specialists rather than being 'self-service' for engineers. Additionally, mandatory quarterly updates require consistent internal resource allocation for regression testing.
