Again, the focus on Parallels staff delivering a product that works for our environment, even when enhancements or improvements were suggested and implemented in future versions of the product.
I really enjoyed that Parallels RAS is an extremely customizable, all-in-one platform with quick access to the health of the infrastructure. The Parallels Client was user-friendly and the drag and drop function really helped our users. The VDI & Remote App support was a huge win for us.
Some specific standout features of the Parallels product are: 1. Publishing of applications: Ability to install an application once on a server, add that server as an application server, then publish the application to designated user groups with many users. 2. Centralized Management: Have a centralized area where you can see all applications published, who they are published to, have the ability to disable access in an instant, and see the details about the server resources (RAM, Memory, CPU usage). 3. Load Balancing and High Availability: Having the ability to setup multiple gateways using the built-in High Availability Load Balancer (HALB) available in the application. You can also have multiple application servers with the same application installed and depending on the load balancing you have setup, it can either user round-robin when routing users or load based.
I do not have any at this time.
Unfortunately, the Parallels RAS became slow after configuring over 100 applications. Although it's customizable, the learning curve is a little high when trying to familiarize yourself with all the options. I would have appreciated the engineering and sales team spending more time showing us the benefits of cloud hosted resources.
Things I dislike: 1. If the PC loses connectivity and reconnects, sometimes the printers for the application fail to reconnect. This would require a log-off and re-login to resolve. 2. Paper size issues with printers such as receipt printers and label printers. Sometimes the paper size is correct on the printer from windows but the server sees something else and prints text fine or big on the paper. 3. There are many versions of the Parallels client that can exist out in the field over time, which can tend to cause compatibility issues for published applications over time.

The product has been working well for us for years and we have not had any major issues with the application during that time. When we first implemented Parallels, it was a game-changer in how we customized and deployed applications across our departments. This became even more apparent during the onset of COVID, when employees were forced to work from home. By coupling Parallels technology with a VPN, we were able to remain largely unaffected, as the infrastructure was already in place to support remote work.
