Performance of Prisma SD-WAN Across Market Features
Prisma SD-WAN Likes & Dislikes
The most attractive feature would be application-aware routing that intelligently steers traffic based on performance and user experience. This makes connectivity resilient and seamless.
The Hardware prices are reasonable. The templating engine and API management of Prisma SD-WAN also make onboarding easy and rolling out many devices can be very straightforward.
It provides very good reporting features with complete visibility of end-points with SLA. It takes very less time to manage its policies and deployment. PaloAlto provides very good support for the Prisma SD-WAN product.
While initial setup and policy configuration complexity was high, the steep learning curve pays off once we got over the hump.
What I don't like about the solution is the strange calculation of throughput and bandwidth consumption. I am familiar with calculation models from many solution that use the 95th percentile. With Prisma SD-WAN however, it is the peak throughput value in a 5 minute interval per month that counts. This does not represent the actual throughput or a fair bandwidth consumption. Additionally, Strata Cloud Manager seems like a stitched-together solution that unfortunately often fails to follow the simplest web design principles.
The HA redundancy setup is very sensitive to deploy. Sometimes facing problems with routing, as depending on the route path results to packet loss.

Unconventional Bandwidth Calculation and clunky Strata Cloud Manager Design Raise Concerns
Before purchasing, we received excellent support during the Proof-of-Concept. Unfortunately, we didn't realize in time that the software repeatedly experiences bugs and TAC is of little help in many cases. However, as long as there are no bugs or hardware failures, the solution runs stably. - DIRECTOR OF IT BUSINESS SOLUTIONS1B-10B USDTravel and HospitalityReview Source
