The fact that the product is cloud based and updates are made effortlessly. The P44 YMS is well laid out, starting with the Map screen which provides an easy search function across the country, the Gate console makes gating equipment in/out seamless, the Dock Console is a quick view at what is in your doors and what is heading to your doors, the Asset Listing which houses all equipment in/out of the yard(s), and the ability to manage all facilities. The use of the P44 RFID technology has helped us to better manage our 20k equipment across the country.
The Yard Management System is great at showing the onsite inventory of equipment and which trailers are loaded, empty, and available to depart from the facility. It really brings our processes up to the 21st century.
The user interface is easy to learn and understand, also the team used for the training and go live was incredibly helpful. They guided us throughout the entire process and were with us
Although there are some export capabilities, there are some limitations with the volume of data that can be exported directly from the screens. That being said, the P44 support team has made strides in improving export abilities and continues to improve. Limited standard reports are available, but the P44 product team has taken our feedback and are adding additional value added reports. Data availability through existing P44 API/Webhooks will serve us better in the long run. Roles & access matrix is acceptable, one level more of granularity would be nice, but we have found ways to work with it.
I don't have anything I truly dislike about the product.
- it takes me 3 links/windows in order to get to the facilities that I need to manage tasks for. It would be nice to take out the steps where I have to go to the location management drop down and then select yard visibility to get to my site management - Project 44 will time out too soon. I would like to log in once at the beginning of the day and it lasts for 8 hours even if I am not actively using the site - I believe this might be user error but creating user IDs can be difficult especially when we were having to create the ID in 2 different sites. That may be fixed now though
