Workday Platform

Data integrity is key, Workday allows us to have all data in one place and processes to run smoothly from that. Previously, we used a combination of platforms and internal manual processes that weren't efficient, Workday allows us to be more efficient. It also allows us to obtain analytics to inform decisions and reporting which has been useful from a transparency perspective. It has also helped in access requests, where previously data discovery had to be done manually in all different areas, now only gets pulled from Workday as the main HR data suppository.

The biggest advantage is having everything in one place. Employee data, payroll, reporting, and performance are all integrated, which reduces the need for multiple systems. System is fairly reliable with minimal downtime.

Searching and navigation can be clunky, it requires you to be quite narrow in your search criteria which enhancing the quality of output, however if you don't have specifics, it doesn't always return what you need. We have put in processes and guidance around this to ensure criteria is appropriately determined. We have also found that sometimes changing or amending a process can be quite difficult, particularly where rerouting data or process flows.

The user interface is unintuitive, especially for new and occasional users. Simple tasks can take more steps than expected. Navigation is not very straight forward. Also, making changes or configuring workflows often requires specialized knowledge or support which is not always available on demand.
