The 3 things I enjoy about Workday are 1. the mobile capability and access 2. ease of team requests and notes 3. expensing user interface As I mentioned earlier, the mobility access to take care of work tasks is helpful and easy to use. This is what I am looking for when using work apps on my phone. I'm not a fan of apps that are not mobile friendly and when traveling for work it is useful to have a mobile interface. The ease of team requests on workday for time off or development models is finding an increasing value for me. Rather than seeing multiple emails for my team about time off requests or development requests, I can get notified through workday. Finally the expensing interface is so easy to use and upload receipts and approve of expenses quickly.
Workday is very scalable (in the sense that it's adaptable if your company is quite big) and quite easy to use. It's quite easy to pull reports (e.g. leave tracking, headcount tracking,...)
1. I can access the absence reporting platform from my laptop or phone, using my single-sign on feature! 2. It is very easy for me to report upcoming absences to my team, as they will be notified as soon as the request submission is approved. 3. I am easily able to access my time off balances (PTO, Floating Holiday, Sick/Personal, etc.) from the Workday platform, giving me all of the information I need to plan upcoming absences.
I have two dislikes about the service and they are 1. workday dashboard widgets and 2. implementing a home button. The workday dashboard widgets could be more customizable, for example I would like to see a calendar for important dates and approvals rather than a list. I would like to customize what is on top or seen first. Secondly, going to a page like an expense hub there should be a home button implemented within each page so you could go back to the main dashboard.
The UI should definitely be something to work on. It can be a great tool, but it's not super intuitive unfortunately. Loading times are sometimes longer than expected.
1. I have to log into Workday and click through multiple pages to access my 'Manage Absence' page, I wish that there was a way to add this to my list of favorites for easy access. 2. The default is calendar view, but there is no way to toggle the view to a different format, like list, to see requested absences in a particular time period or fiscal year (like if I wanted to see all of my upcoming absences in FY'26). 3. There is no way of seeing my colleagues' calendars, this would be helpful to know when my supervisor will be out of the office so I can plan accordingly (right now I have to check my work calendar to see if the absences have been added manually).
