What is Workspace ONE UEM?

Workspace ONE UEM is a software that provides unified endpoint management capabilities, allowing organizations to manage and secure devices across various operating systems from a single console. The software enables device configuration, application management, and compliance monitoring for smartphones, tablets, laptops, and rugged devices. Workspace ONE UEM supports integration with existing IT systems, automates device provisioning, and applies security policies to safeguard corporate data. FAVORABLE

“The Comprehensive platform with a steep learning curve”

4.0
Jan 24, 2026
We are using this product to manage iOS and Windows/Android rugged devices for the past many years. The platform is really quick to manage the policies and devices but tricky to avoid impact because of inheritance from top towards bottom. Since the platform has been migrated from VMWare to Broadcom to Omnissa, we have seen lots of hiccups from technical support, however the current vendor is trying hard to achieve faith from clients.

Our overall experience was positive. The platform is robust for UEM, although the initial implementation and configuration required significant specialized resources.

Workspace ONE UEM Likes & Dislikes

Like

Cost effective solution. Strong security capabilities and a good comprehensive solution if you need device-based management rather than user-based.

Like

We like the powerful scripting and sensor capabilities of macOS. It allows us to go beyond standard profiles and automate complex administrative tasks and data collection.

Like

Containerization capabilities on mobile devices. It effectively separates work apps from personal data, which is crucial for our Data Loss Prevention strategy. We can remotely wipe corporate data without touching the user's personal photos, while enforcing strict policy controls on business apps.

Dislike

Vendor support is always a challenge. The licensing is quite rigid. Migration challenge from WS1 to another platform. Sometimes the device enrollment process is delayed during the HUB client installation and device sync to platform.

Dislike

As an on-premise customer, we struggle with inconsistent console performance (slowness) and the sheer complexity of keeping all the server components updated.

Dislike

The licensing cost is a little high compared to alternative solutions that are often bundled with standard enterprise subscriptions. Justifying the extra expense of this platform to upper management can be challenging, even though the features are superior for mobile devices.

Workspace ONE UEM is the backbone of our mobility strategy. It provides granular policy controls that allow us to manage both corporate and personal mobile devices securely. The containerization of work data is excellent for Data Loss Prevention, ensuring that corporate files cannot be shared outside of managed apps. It also simplifies access to our critical SaaS applications through a unified catalog.
