The automation of commission calculations, the transparency it offers to sales reps, and the strong audit trail for compliance and all reasons I like the product. The user interface is intuitive once you have time to get familiar with it, and the reporting capabilities are robust.
Main dashboard screen is alright.
Beyond commission tacking, I've found Xactly to be a key asset during my quarterly business reviews. The reporting features are intuitive and allow me to pull performance numbers and trends on the spot, whether its bookings, attainment or historical data. This makes my QBRs much more data-driven and efficient, and it helps leadership see a clear picture of progress without needing to rely on multiple systems or manual tracking.
Initial setup and configuration was time consuming, but to be expected for a product like this. It also required heavy support from Xactly consultants, which we weren't planning for, plus the response time can lag a bit from support tickets. Custom reporting doesn't have the features we expected, and data syncs with CRM platforms could be better.
Maybe it's how it's set up at my company, but it's really difficult to go through your statements and track what deals you're getting paid on, and where the amounts come from.
1. The user interface can feel overwhelming at first. It has a lot of functionality, which is great - but for someone new to the tool, the layout and navigation can be a bit clunky. It may take time to understand how to pull the exact data you're looking for, and not all dashboards are as customizable or user-friendly as you might expect out of the box. 2. The accuracy of your commissions or performance data heavily depends on how well your internal operations or comp teams have set up the system. If the backend configuration isn't handled properly or if data inputs are delayed, it can lead to discrepancies that affect visibility and trust. This isn't necessarily a flaw in Xactly itself but it highlights the need for strong data hygiene and process management internally. 3. If you're not an admin, your ability to tweak reports or dive deeper into certain data can be limited. This means reps or frontline managers often need to request updates or new reports through sales ops, which can create delays or inefficiencies if your organization doesnt have a responsive support process.

Xactly Offers Strong Interface and Versioning Amid Reporting and Usability Challenges
Xactly is an amazing tool of course with some improvements it will be outstanding. Good things about Xactly: 1. Great user interface for sales reps. Reps can dig down to opportunity level and check the commission for particular deal and the rate at which they are getting paid for that deal. 2. Very well structured tool with versioning options on almost every object like versioning of rate tables to versioning of people, position , hierarchy etc. 3. Building plan documents is also pretty good if not a lot of complexity is involved. Bad things about Xactly: 1. Will be good to have a rep level calculation option , as its batch based, we always have to calculated full batch for the months 2. Retroactive adjustments are a bit harder to make as period have to be opened and batches have to be run for all prior months 3. Lookup tables is a good feature but we do not get count of rows displayed and we do not get a timestamp in the excel file of when and for which month it is in the file itself. 4. Xactly doesn't simplify the comp review for a sales person. Can be very difficult to know what you're getting paid for.
