OnePlan is an exceptional tool that has transformed our reporting and tracking capabilities within my project management office. The platform is incredibly user-friendly and allows us to tailor our portfolio to meet our organization's unique needs. The dashboard provides real-time insights that make it easy to track progress accross multiple portfolios within a large organization. Pros: highly customizable, user-friendly interface, real-time insights and comprehensive reporting through PowerBI, responsive and knowledgeable customer support. Cons: occasional learning curve with advanced features, but the support team is always available to assist, PowerBI report building would be difficult for us if we did not have an in-house resource as a PowerBI developer. We received incredible training from OnePlan's team on how to use PowerBI to create reports, but with the number of unique reports we needed built out (aside from the out-of-the-box reports OnePlan provides) it was helpful having someone in house to take on that work.

My experience with Planview, having used at least 3 organizations at the moment, has been mostly positive. I first began using the product in 2014. At that time there were a lot of issues with lag in loading times during database commit. Over the years, though, they have done a lot of platform upgrades to improve performance and query optimization, and most impactfully there has been a shift from traditional databases to cloud/microservices architecture. The one thing that stands out about the company is its ability to listen to customers. In 2014, the organization in question was a very large and global software company. The Planview team worked very closely with me during my time as the PMO portfolio manager to gather feedback from our PM community and incorporate them into their roadmap beyond the initial teething problems following the initial rollout. Over the years, Planview has morphed into more than just a PM tool. They offer OKR alignment features, end-to-end strategic portfolio management and most recently inclusion of AI capabilities into their platform with Planview Platform for Connected Work. The availability of several avenues for training resources also helps during the onboarding process for a smooth adoption and usage experience. Overall, I have seen this company come a long way over the last decade plus and continue to make significant strides with respect to their value proposition in this very saturated market for project and portfolio management software.

I have hands on experience implementing and using three PPM products and found UMT360 to be the best fit for the vast majority of medium to large companies. The base Microsoft Project Online product provides all the project management essentials in a familiar, ease-to-use interface while UMT360 provides the advanced functionality required to complete enterprise-level planning and governance seamlessly in the same interface. The team at UMT360 and Microsoft are incredible responsive and don't try to nickel and dime you for continuous improvement-related enhancements. My only hope for the products are related to PowerBI and some of its limitations. I hope to see UMT360 provide multiple reporting options perhaps while Microsoft continues to evolve the PowerBI product.
