It has nice integration features. Security layers are useful for limiting user access. Import scenarios and generic inquiries (most of the time) as helpful features that reduce my workload, as a developer. I know my answer is rather broad. That is because most of the useful features are not in my realm. The development experience has been less than ideal.
The consumption based licensing model is a standout feature for us. Not having to pay per user seat allows us to grant access to everyone at our company. Additionally, the GI tool and customizable dashboards provide fairly good real time visibility into our KPIs.
- UI visually can look a bit dysfunctional (dashboards and charts can be difficult to configure, themes) - Not as widely adopted as other Tier ERP (less product support from 3rd parties) - Limitations on reporting (requires BI tools for more indepth analytics, requires 3rd party add ons)
As previously mentioned, lack of documentation. Lack of cohesion, as well. Searching through source code to make your own customizations is like searching for a needle in a needle stack, blindfolded. The development process is not intuitive. With little to no documentation, mixed with the non-intuitive process, customization is not an easy feat. Simple tasks are not simple in Acumatica.
The out of the box reporting cab be surprisingly thin. For more complex financial statements or industry-specific analytics, the native reporting designer has a steep learning curve and often requires technical knowledge
