Blue Yonder Supply Chain Planning Likes & Dislikes
1. Having the ability to have a true end-to-end view of our supply chain. We did not have this before, and it helps us to break down silos within our business 2. The demand forecasting tool has some very advanced algorithms that have allowed us to increase our forecast accuracy by nearly 5%! This was a huge win 3. You can tell that the sales and support staff really care about your success. They frequently reach out to see how we're doing, and to ask if there is any way they can help us out. They make proactive recommendations and pull in high-level expert help when appropriate.
When successfully configured the product is excellent
The three things I like most about JDA are that it is user friendly, flexible control, and has data export capabilities. JDA is simple to navigate making it efficient and easy to train new hires on. Visual forecasts and sales data are easy to see, which is helpful when training new hires who are visual learners. The system also allows for manual adjustments which provide control and adaptability in scenarios when a quick turn around is imperative. Data exports that enable deeper analysis is also a huge plus that helps with informed decision making.
1. At times, the implementation process was a bit painful. However, I think that was partly due to us not setting appropriate expectations internally 2. If your data is not clean or appropriately managed, Blue Yonder is still going to try and forecast or plan it 3. Some of the default/standard settings and parameters need to be tweaked. You need to understand that you're going to have to make iterative changes and updates, you cannot just take it as a standard out of the box solution.
The ability to leverage everything, it takes a lot of configuration. Plus the batches.
The three things I dislike about JDA are the timing constraints, lack of real time store inventory data, and the lack of clear terms and definitions. Users have to work within specified windows of time due to the scheduled job runs which can limit flexibility and make it more difficult to work later or earlier to get the job done. Store inventory data is not updated in real time. To obtain real time information I need to use a different application to capture that information. Help screens could provide clearer terms and definitions. An example being Plan Analysis FE page. When you click the ? On that screen, it would be great if there was a definition explaining each line on that page and what it means.

High End Supply Chain Platform that Will Provide Significant Value With Some Customization
Blue Yonder has been an exceptional partner. The product itself is outstanding, and we very much enjoy working with it. It has unlocked insights and value that we would not have found before. Our partners at Blue Yonder, who we work with, have been a joy, and have provided us with confidence in the platform. - SUPPLY CHAIN ASSOCIATE10B+ USDConsumer GoodsReview Source
Enhanced Usability Needed for Price Elasticity and Help Features in Platform
My overall experience has been positive. JDA does a great job at forecasting the majority of our SKUs. I am rating JDA less than 5 stars because there is still room for improvement around the promotion engine, particularly around hot promotions. Manual intervention is required to lift the forecast to meet historical sales volumes at the same or similar price points. Another opportunity would be to allow users to pick between Lewandowski modeling and AVS Graves. Similar to how Seasonality 1 and Seasonality 2 function works. - Product Manager10B+ USDRetailReview Source
Enhanced Store Layout Efficiency Through Advanced Planogram and Space Optimization Tools
BY's Category Management suite has transformed our store planning operations through efficient planogram management and layout optimization. The solution excels at handling multiple store formats while maintaining consistency consistency across our retail network. We've seen particular value in its ability to rapidly generate and modify planograms at scale, significantly reducing the time spent on manual planning tasks. - GLOBAL PLANNING COE DIRECTOR10B+ USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source
Adaptability and Advanced Modeling Noted, Training Remains Ongoing Challenge
We have been using Blue Yonder for 14 years and have been able to continuously improve our planning capabilities using this tool. The Blue Yonder team is attentive and always willing to discuss issues that may come up. We have found the tool itself to be adaptable to our unique business scenarios. Our biggest challenge is retaining internal knowledge on how the system works and we have been working with Blue Yonder on the best way to sustain documentation and knowledge of the system especially after new upgrades. Blue Yonder does have a training strategy, but it is an additional paid service. - Director of Operations10B+ USDRetailReview Source
Blue Yonder Deployment Transforms Store Replenishment
Overall the experience has good, moving to a new platform can always be a challenge especially during implementation and data integration as we continue to deal with some missteps with that process. We've seen benefits in reduced out of stocks and lower inventory in moving away from our legacy platform in every department. Still need to rely on our legacy engine for a few specific use cases
