Celonis stands out with its :- Powerful Process Discovery = Automatically maps out business processes from system logs, helping uncover inefficiencies that are often missed manually Action Engine = Provides real-time recommendations and alerts, making it easier to act on insights quickly. Custom Dashboard and KPIs = Highly customizable interface to track performance metrics aligned with business goals.
The product does the job it was designed for. The service is always friendly, very optimistic and approachable.
My personal experience has been splendid and comfortable. I like this the most as it provides loads of insights which were not recognized earlier. The opportunity to make processes efficient and identify violations saves valuable time and resources and this helps to a greater extent in multiple facets of the company. Also the technical expertise and guidance offered on occasions of queries raised makes the experience valuable and beneficial. The introduction of the ML workbench seals the deal and unlocks loads of opportunities. The new view offers a better UI and state-of-the-art dashboarding capabilities, which makes it easier for the business to consume. Also the simple UI for OCPM is also great. The ability to also track and record the value and benefits realized using the transformation Hub also makes value reporting very easy.
Celonis is powerful, but it comes with some challenges:- Steep Learning Curve = Platform requires significant training and onboarding time, especially for non-technical users Complex Initial Setup = Integrating with various enterprise systems can be time consuming and resource-intensive Performance issues with large data sets = When processing very large volumes of data, system performance can slow down, impacting analysis speed.
Product (Process Designer): Not enough capabilities/rights for the role process author. No undo-button nor recycle bin. No easy transfer from any other format to the product (e.g. from Mural/Whiteboard after a process discovery workshop, from .ppt or Excel) Service: n/a for Process Designer coverage. For Celonis overall, sometimes Sales/Marketing seems more important than delivery.
Loading or synching is at times an issue, but the problem is solved automatically within a day at the maximum. Inability to connect to SOAP APIs and paginations in the extractor builder is a disappointment.

The experience for both the company and myself has been outstanding. The training offered and the various webinars conducted as a part of Celosphere makes it easy to adapt to this new technological sensation quite comfortably. The availability of connectors in abundance to connect to various databases helps to improve in multiple domains. The organization has started to implement Process Mining and has already excelled in using the Plant Maintenance and was able to optimize process for a punctual start of maintenance. Similarly in other areas such as Trading, Sales, HR etc, the business sees the potential that Celonis adds to them and the proactive notifications are of great help. Celonis Excels at Process Visualization but Lacks Detailed Guidance for Complex Implementations
Celonis is overall a great tool to get an understanding of your process related data. The UI looks great and there are plenty of visualization possibilities. However, since they are leading the development of this technology a lot of the new features are made available and being heavily advertised before they are completely ready. This happened for example with the new object-centric process mining, where a lot of questions regarding the implementation and best-practices couldn't even be answered by their internal experts due to this technology being released before the staff was properly trained on it. Our company was a Symbio customer before it became a Celonis customer due to the takeover of the company. Hence the rating refers to an overall experience of 5 years working with the product now called "Process Designer". The ambition of the vendor was always somewhat higher than what the product could provide in reality. Too many bugs, no consistent f2e development of features. Lately we have seen improvements in the design and functionality as well as communication.
