Easy to use: once the system has been set up I can get the data I need each month with just a few clicks. Saved searches: The searches I need to conduct on a regular basis are saved so I can access them easily and run reports. Word cloud: Each search creates a word cloud from the collective social media posts that can be exported to presentations to leadership. Data from searches can be exported to Excel for further analysis.

Frequent down periods where data is not accurate or available. Cision is unable to track specific hashtags on personal Facebook pages, which makes it appear that our impact is lower than it actually is. The number of people reached seems to be exaggerated. Our social media pages frequently get disconnected from Cision and need to be reconnected. Emotion ratings are usually wrong. Cision will rate a post as positive, negative, happy, sad, angry, etc. and most of the time these ratings are wrong. This could be because most of the posts we track include Spanish language content and Cision may misinterpret the meaning of these non-English words.

We use Cision for Social Listening. We work with a variety of social services and health care agencies throughout the US and we coordinate social media campaigns. Cision allows us to view all of the posts created by our agency and partner agencies in a single location and helps assess reach and impact. Each month/quarter/year I am able to extract a report that shows our coalition's reach.
