The implementation model relies upon an implementation partner. If this is not done well, you will struggle with implementation. Cornerstone does a great job trying to fill the gaps of a poor implementation partner without taking over completely. However it leaves much to be desired for a successful end to end implementation. Our original Client Success Manager (CSM) did an excellent job and is the sole reason these ratings are not below average. Her ability to address the implementation challenges when starting operations have been the main reason for our moderate success in leveraging Cornerstone Learning within our organization. The personal attention to our company's needs and willingness to get her hands dirty in completing critical activities side-by-side with our team is something few software providers have offered in my 10 years experience. Since this original review above we have now had 7 different CSMs from Cornerstone who have varied in their ability to assist. The CSM does their best to fill support gaps when priorities are not handled well by support. Technical support is subpar for a SaaS company of this size and continues to be a struggle for us and other customers we meet at peer events. Leadership is keen to hear our concerns, but this does not trickle down to sustained improvements. We incur a cycle of escalations and resolutions time and time again instead of seeing technical support simply deliver.

Like

Cornerstone Learn can be intimidating when first setting it up as there are so many different options and settings - however, this is because the system allows for a high percentage of customisation and personalisation which inevitably results in a better user experience for your learners. Another huge positive with Cornerstone is that they are constantly improving the system. There are regular updates where new features are made available so that the product is constantly evolving. As a customer you can influence this using the idealab - where you can post ideas for improvements which get voted on by other users. The more votes - the more likely your idea will be implemented in a future update. Finally - having access to testing environments means that you can fully test any new features or functionality, before enabling it in your live environment.

Like

The Cornerstone Learning product is extremely robust. The rocket ship of Learning Management Systems. It can do almost everything an organization would need, at least in some capacity. There is a large community of organizations to partner with and find solutions when Cornerstone comes up short on capabilities.

With enough knowledge of the system, it's not difficult to make it do what you want. There are often multiple ways to approach the same issue, each with pros and cons, but something that will fit your use case. Reporting 2.0 is a very powerful tool once you understand its quirks. The community is very responsive and helpful.

Dislike

I think that we were unlucky in that we had a few changes of account manager in our first year using the product which undermined the building of a good relationship. Reporting issues can be tricky due to the evidence needing to be presented in a particular way which our end users aren't always capable of capturing.

Dislike

The Cornerstone Learning product can do everything, but not everything the best. Prior LMS capabilities within our organization are lacking, but they are not critical elements. Small challenges to adopt to a less attractive way of doing something is often the compromise. The implementation service outsourcing to partner firms is a dislike. Following a challenging partner implementation, we strongly believe that if Cornerstone was in charge of the implementation that it would have been done better. Cornerstone support services leave something to be desired. In an environment where we serve our sales customers with our LMS, escalated issues to Cornerstone support can often take too long. While within SLA's, the contractual SLA's are simply too wide for a customer facing application.

Dislike

There are multiple areas that desperately need updating. When requests are submitted for these updates, they're closed, saying it's not on the roadmap. These areas include the test engine, which hasn't been touched in over a decade, some reporting gaps, and group criteria missing vital filter options (though this is currently being worked on). A recent UI enhancement has left a lot of admins annoyed as it introduced an overwhelming amount of white space, requiring frequent users to navigate more screen space.

    Mastery Level Settings Enhance Module Progression and Learner Mastery Development

    One of the best options when it comes to corporate L&D, HR/Talent Development, and training platforms. I have had great experiences using Cornerstone building a real foundational platform to help drive our talent development program and increase internal knowledge building. Cornerstone has a great feature in its Career Path function which highlight a person's career goals, skills they have/still need, and can provide clear roadmap that they can consistently check on progress. Not many platforms offer this and it helps foster a personalized learning experience.
