SAP was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Walldorf, Germany. The company employs over 105,000 people globally and develops software solutions for enterprise resource planning (ERP) and related business functions. SAP’s early products, SAP R/2 and SAP R/3, were widely adopted for managing core business processes. Its current ERP platform, SAP S/4HANA, uses in-memory computing to support data-intensive operations and integrates capabilities such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. SAP offers a portfolio of software applications that support various business functions across industries. These applications are designed to operate on a unified digital platform. As of 2025, SAP reports over 230 million cloud users and provides more than 100 solutions. The company’s offerings are used by organizations to manage finance, human resources, procurement, supply chain, and other operational areas.

As User you have a very good overview and search for overall trainings. You can book trainings with different focus on Soft Skills, Hard Skills, offtopic skills. Also an Approval Workflow is established when there are addtional costs for trainings.
The many options for working with this tool.
First and foremost, the service behind this product is outstanding. I have never felt left out in the cold -- my customer service rep, the service portal analysts and technicians, the technical experts offering seminars and office hours... it all adds up to a wonderful experience whenever I encounter issues or questions. On top of that, the customer forums and user groups provide a wealth of practical knowledge and support. Second, the Learning application user interface has improved greatly over the last few years. The modern interface, with clear prompts for learning processes and procedures, along with the ability to customize labels, allows us to provide a user experience that is unmatched. Thirdly, the administration options and interfaces offer such a wealth of customization that I can never find it lacking in any way. Can we and How do we questions from our administrators can be answered positively 95% of the time. In addition, SAP welcomes customer feedback through their enhancement request feature to crowdsource improvements... and they listen to their customers.
As User I like the clarity and search possibilities. You can search for trainings and you will find a list of trainings to book - You see additional costs and make your own decision to choose free trainings or other kind of trainings with costs.
I miss the ability to make changes myself, and in general, the options for customization are limited and always associated with costs.
One of our biggest challenges has been reporting. SAP has made strides with the Analytics tool and Report Center, but it doesn't match the ease and number of standard reports available in the Learning application (plateau reports). In addition, SAP eliminated manager dashboards with the new learning experience, so our managers now need to run CSV reports to get a list of overdue employees... not an intuitive process. My desire is to give our managers and executives easy insight into what learning is being completed and whether or not compliance is being met. There is currently no way to do that without providing administrator access and extensive report training.
