DHL Supply Chain Transportation-Related Services Alternatives

Kuehne + Nagel International Logistics Services provides me with their extensive network of transportation services needed for worldwide logistics support. Even if their tracking service functions properly, the customer service problems raise operational hurdles for us.

We have a Global contract with DHL supporting many activities in our organization: Warehousing (Hub Management), DOP, Last Mile, Air, Sea and Road Cargo. It is a long-term partnership, and I have many positive aspects to highlight in DHL Services: first, the customer services are outstanding and the investment in technology and innovation is absolutely a priority in DHL. We really appreciate the relationship and the high level of service excellence in selecting DHL as our supplier!

DHL Supply Chain's warehouse services have exceptional expertise in warehouse operations, automation and process optimisation. It has helped a lot in optimising and streamlining our supply chain performance.

The overall shipping experience has been wonderful, but negotiating contracts has been a battle.

Our first time creating a relation with a logistics firm vs. spot container shipments. But, no better, and costly.

CH Robinson/TMC does a great job of managing our freight. They have helped us organize bid events and ran the events based on our own parameters. They offer online services as well as a support team to assist in scheduling and managing of carriers.

Our team has enjoyed fairly clear escalation paths to spite large global utilization of several Expeditors offices. The Account Management structure is much simpler than other 3PL/4PLs. Expeditors has a unique approach to customer engagement and the business feels more like a collaboration for best business approaches. Their investment in their clients is a clear company priority. The contracting process with Expeditors was a challenge. I attribute this to a lack of flexibility on the parts of both legal teams. While I have rarely observed a contracting effort to be without its nuances- I do think that process was unnecessarily challenging. Billing processes are not as nimble as they could be. Each branch office operates under its own P&L and there is currently not a global offering for centralized billing. This requires high AP touch in remitting funds for each of the in-country branches that supply services.
