We currently use Pure Storage FlashArray X70 R4 as our primary enterprise storage platform supporting VMware virtualization and mission critical banking services. Since deployment, we have experienced excellent stability, predictable performance and smooth software upgrades with no unplanned downtime. The integration with our existing infrastructure has been seamless and the responsiveness of Pure Storage has consistently met our expectations. Additionally, FlashArray X70 has played a key role in our data center consolidation and migration activities. Its replication capabilities, ease of data mobility and non-disruptive migration features have significantly simplified the migration process, minimized operational risk and enabled us to perform infrastructure transitions with little to no impact on business services. Overall, FlashArray X70 has proven to be a reliable, high-performance and easy to manage platform that fully meets the requirements of our enterprise banking environment. Another major benefit has been the successful implementation of a VMware Metro Cluster based on FlashArray X70 replication, providing seamless workload mobility between our data centers, enhanced business continuity and increased resilience for critical banking services.
Read all insights and reviews for FlashArrayWe use TrueNAS Enterprise as our primary on‑prem storage platform for a mix of virtual machines, databases and file shares, and it has been solid once we got through the initial learning curve. ZFS snapshots and replication give us confidence on the data protection side, and we have already used snapshots a few times to recover from user mistakes without drama. The product feels more “admin‑focused” than glossy, but day‑to‑day it has been reliable, predictable and easy to live with as long as you respect the design guidelines around pools, vdevs and capacity planning.

Overall, it has good performance and cost per TB for storing data. It's a reliable solution for geodata processing and designed for non- disruptive upgrades. It supports multiple protocols which works well for VMware and file shares. We have been using it for our GIS department to process Geo data for ArcGIS pro and it works flawlessly.

During the RFP process , there isn't any false promises or stretching of the truth. Then once the kit arrives on site and the professional services engagement begins it is smooth and delivered to a high standard there is also continuity although going to different vendors over multiple refreshes there is the same professional services engineers which allow us to hit the ground running and work extremely well and compliment the internal teams for a forklift or migration approach. Any issues are dealt with in a timely manner by the account team also and any escalations are resolved quickly. The move from StorageNav to protector to 360 is also like night and day, it has simplified complex tasks and slowly removing the need for dedicated storage admins to allow shift left to a generalist to cover basic tasks and a few more complex tasks. Our GAD expansions and failovers are now performed by a generalist and operations teams.

We put Dell PowerScale in as our main storage for about 10,000 users and 1,000 people using it at the same time in a school setting, all on-site across different spots. It took us 3 months to get it all set up — longer than we thought, mostly 'cause we had to mess with permissions on old directory stuff that wasn't written down well. Once we got past the initial setup, the system ran without any unexpected shutdowns for the next 6 months.
