GAINS

So far, our team has liked the forecast reviews by GAINS and replenishment detail screen. Also, I would like to shout out for the Integration work that GAINS consultant has done for us to make the GAINS system work for us.

Forecasting is great. We are constantly automatically recalculating forecasts, safety stocks, and economic order quantities based on changes in demand.

GAINS has co-developed new processes that have had a significant impact on our ability to serve our customers and hit our inventory performance goals. GAINS allows us to make broad adjustments to our forecast and demand plans to keep up with shifts int he market. GAINS also allows us to be very specific on an individual item basis to solve service or inventory concerns.

I think GAINS could improve on resolving some of the system glitches or small bugs we encounter while switching to different screens or while updating any overrides. Also, updating BOMs and multi-echelon screen updates could be improved little bit.

Our environment is complex, and it seems that two years after implementation, I don't feel that the dust has settled. Bugs have created distrust in the system and its recommendations. Some bugs actually do drive bad behavior.

Customer Service could be quicker to respond. Oftentimes the issue changes before someone can review WHY the issue took place. I wish there was a better redistribution model to more proactively move inventory to provide better service. In some instances, it is advantageous to present opportunities to redistribute material to meet a customer backorder even if it may cause a higher risk in a location that currently has stock. Occasional bugs that we have just learned to live with.
