1. Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS)

By Amazon Web Services (AWS)

4.5
(223 Ratings)

We have been using Amazon EKS for more than 3 years now and can easily say that it has excellent stability. It also has predictable upgrade paths and seamless integration with AWS networking, IAM, and monitoring tools. Our cluster uptime has been excellent, and now failures tend to be isolated to misconfiguration rather than platform stability. I took a star off as I think it does take time and expertise to operate EKS efficiently, but not a lack of capability.

2. Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS)

By Amazon Web Services (AWS)

4.6
(220 Ratings)

Broadly speaking, our experience with Amazon Elastic Container Service has been very positive. ECS has provided a stable, scalable and cost efficient platform for running containerized workloads across several teams. The close integration with other AWS services such as IAM, CloudWatch, load balancers and Fargate allowed us to simplify both our architecture and our daily operations. ECS has helped us reduce infrastructure work while improving the reliability and visibility of our services.

My overall experience with AWS and Fargate has been great as of now. I have been able to streamline our application deployment and development lifecycles without having to worry too much about some of the nuances of networking, security, and management that can come with deploying applications on virtual machines or even Kubernetes.

6. Portainer

By Portainer

4.6
(44 Ratings)

Portainer does the job it's built for, but it also isn't the best container management/orchestration platform out there. It handles building and deploying containers into your environment and supports deployment to remote environments, which is very convenient at scale. However, Portainer's UI/UX is clunky, and I find it easier to deploy out of CLI and YAML files instead of using Portainer due to Portainer's own unique methods of handling deployments.

Cloud Run as a container platform/multiple coding format, offering a superior path to rapid time-to-market but for the first touch deploy some products across the multi-region, buckets, tables on GCP, the documentation and onboarding it's not the best.
