The process delivery and visualization is very intuitive and easy to understand. The ability to analyze real execution data helps uncover hidden inefficiencies. Integration with other IBM tools works well for enterprise using IBM ecosystem. The platform is scalable and suitable for complex, large volume processes.
I'm impressed with the AI technology used in IBM Process Mining. For example, the high accuracy of process mapping allowed us to automatically develop a model based on event log data from their ERP system. This gave us a clear picture of their complete workflow, including a high-level overview of interactions between departments. We were able to quickly examine process behaviors to identify significant activities in terms of cost-effectiveness and lead time unpredictability, as well as key users of the processes, and verify the division of roles. We were able to adapt our process after assessing their complete workflow to eliminate errors and inappropriate practices that affected delivery timelines. The initial setup and data preparation can be time consuming, especially for complex processes. Advanced analysis and customizations require specialized skills, which increase dependency on experts. Integration with outside IBM ecosystem can take additional effort. The user interface, while powerful, can feel complex to new users.
They must keep in mind that not all functionalities are listed or updated in the manual for quite some time! The last time I looked, many functions were lacking, and it takes a long time for juniors to learn from the documentation. I really wish they would develop a complete mobile app like their competitors to enable us with smooth access from anywhere. When it's combined with other tools other than IBM, the performance suffers, but as long as it's from the IBM family, it's lightning quick.
Sometimes during the implementation we encounter some obstacles with complex steps and configurations, but when we turn to the support they help us get over it, but it takes time. The dashboard is very user-friendly. However, they need to improve the user experience and the performance.
