My experience with Oracle Peoplesoft has been mixed. Oracle tools can be used effectively for specific management and reporting needs, particularly in performance management scenarios. However, Oracle does not play the role of a single end-to-end ERP backbone. The platform delivers value in focused use cases but feels less cohesive when compared to more integrated cloud-native solutions.

The visibility of our financials when it comes to POs, invoices, and our capital appropriation requests tracking. We can monitor and track the sources of inflows and outflows of capital during the procurement and project phases. PeopleSoft as a platform is easy to integrate into project management dashboards for upper-level leadership visibility.

The platform provides strong capabilities for financial planning, consolidation and reporting. It supports complex financial models and regulatory requirements well. Another positive aspect is its maturity. Oracle has been used in our environment for many years and its stability is proven.

It is highly customizable to fit unique organizational needs, reliable performance and strong reporting capabilities, seamless integration across various enterprise modules.

User experience is one dislike with the dated interface and overall navigation which can cause some learning gaps. PeopleSoft is less innovative in user solutions. Legacy architecture of the system can complicate future business needs of the future.

Oracle platform can feel fragmented with different modules offering inconsistent user experiences. The system often requires significant mainteance and expertise particualy when integrated with non Oracle landscapes. Finally, innovation and user experience improvements feel slower compared to newer cloud first platforms.

The user interface can feel dated compared to modern cloud platforms, customization can make upgrades complex and time-consuming and steeper learning curve for new users without prior ERP experience.
