Phenom is a company run by mission driven leaders. The Phenom team goes above and beyond to understand what their clients need to solve their problems. Unfortunately, solutions are created without the right level of product testing which negatively impacts their customers.

Strong Technology Backed by an Engaged, Partnership-Oriented Team

    5.0
    May 20, 2026
Phenom has been a strong partner for us, especially in transforming our candidate and employee experience through a more modern, intuitive platform. What stands out most is how configurable and scalable the system is. We've been able to align it closely with our recruiting strategy without much major friction. The CRM and career site capabilities have significantly improved how we engage talent and tell our story. What's worked well is the continuous innovation and regular release enhancement (fraud AI). There's always something new we can leverage. Their support team is also responsive and generally invested in our success. Where there's been opportunity is around implementation complexity and occasional delays in support resolution for more technical issues. Some features require deeper internal expertise than expected to fully optimize. Overall, Phenom has been a valuable investment and key part of advancing our hiring strategy and impacting our talent at a local and state level scale.

Phenom offers Automation Strengths but Lacks Comprehensive Campaign Tracking Features

    4.0
    Jan 27, 2026
Overall we are very happy with Phenom. We use it to host our external career sites and also for our CRM. I think the automation engine, the embedded AI and the filtering (creating spotlights) are very powerful. However, we would like to see better end-to-end tracking for campaigns. Currently, we can't include the UTM campaign or source in the filters for the Hiring Funnel report which makes it hard for us to track the true success of campaigns.

Transforming Recruitment: High-Volume Solutions Game Changer

    5.0
    May 19, 2026
While not everything has gone smoothly over the years, the solutions provided are top notch and have improved our results dramatically. Phenom is willing to listen to their customers and custom build solutions that fit their needs. High-volume recruitment solutions are awesome when filling frontline worker positions that require a quick response from managers pursing candidates. Allowing candidates to self-schedule is a game changer.

Phenom Applied AI Likes & Dislikes

Like

1 - Ease of use and low adoption burden The product itself is genuinely easy to operate across all user roles: admins, recruiters, hiring managers, and CMS users building out the career site. Adoption is quick, the interface is end-user friendly, and the platform stays focused on its core purpose rather than being overbuilt with features outside its lane. This has meaningfully reduced our training overhead and time-to-value with each new module we've added. 2 - Best-in-class candidate experience The career site, application flow, and overall candidate-facing experience are world class. Phenom gives us the ability to fully showcase our employer brand and clearly communicate what we expect of our employees, which is essential for a high-volume retail execution model like ours. The candidate journey feels modern and intentional, and that has a direct downstream impact on application rates and quality of fit. 3 - Service and account continuity The service has been a consistent standout since we launched. We've repeatedly had the same experienced project managers and developers rejoin our team during new implementations, and that institutional knowledge of the uniqueness of our business is invaluable - we're not re-explaining our model every cycle. Our dedicated account manager and customer value manager hold regular cadence with us to ensure we're getting maximum value from the product and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.

What I appreciate most about Phenom is the combination of a strong platform and even stronger people behind it. The technology itself is flexible, innovative, and clearly built with both the candidate and recruiter experience in mind. But what really sets Phenom apart is the team. From the service and support partners to the account executive. They are consistently engaged, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping us succeed. It feels like a true partnership rather than a vendor relationship. Their willingness to listen, problem-solve, pivot, and bring forward ideas has made a meaningful difference in how effectively we're able to leverage their platform.

Dislike

1. Out-of-the-box fit for non-traditional hiring models Occasionally the product doesn't fully support the way we hire and manage our hiring flow out-of-the-box, and we need a degree of customization to align it to our organization. That said, Phenom handles these request very well and works hand-in-hand with us to get the configuration right. Teams with highly unique hiring models should expect some tailoring during implementation. 2. Feature pipeline timing for data and intelligence requests As we've grown with the platform, we occasionally request capabilities, particularly around date intelligence and reporting that aren't yet in active development or on the near-term roadmap. This is partly a function of how uniquely we look at our data. Phenom has consistently expanded in this area as they gain more customers and broader industry insights, and their team is typically able to help us surface the information we need in the interim, but the roadmap doesn't always move at the pace of our questions. 3. Underutilized capability relative to our model Phenom is a deeply robust platform, and our business model doesn't genuinely need every capability it offers. At times we feel like we're paying for or stepping past features that don't align with how we hire, which can make it harder to evaluate the full ROI of the platform against our specific use case. This is more a reflection of our model than a product flaw, but it's worth noting for buyers with narrower hiring footprints.

Dislike

The lack of oversight of the production environment The siloed approach which makes it difficult to rectify issues Phenom's focus on creating new products without rectifying issues with existing products We thought the tool would unlock efficiencies but due to the multiple ongoing issues with duplicate records, issues with rectifying long-term issues we have experienced a productivity loss for our service center and HR technology team

Dislike

Implementation and configuration complexity: While the flexibility is a strength, it can also make initial setup and ongoing configuration more complex than advertised. Some features, require deep expert-level engineering setup to fully leverage. Support response times: Although the team is engaged and helpful, resolution timelines and follow-through during implementation can sometimes lag and requires direct ownership from the customer. This can slow down momentum when trying to move initiative/projects forward. Feature usability: When set-up through implementation, you're given a standard out of the box platform. The true value comes in all the feature flags for what else the platform can do. The customer doesn't know this and unless we (the customer) ask then the flags are turned on. Analytics: The analytics are a standard and good, but not elite level. I'd like to see Phenom implement AI to their platform where the end user can ask questions about what the data is telling us (and problems) we're trying to solve vs. decent charts.
