I like that the product is so customizable and that you can build something that works for you and modify what you build, even down to the user group level, so that we as an organization can ensure we are only putting what's important in front of our users and nothing that's not. The implementation team and the overall support has also been top notch
The level of customization. We operate in a very unique environment and I've been able to build out things that directly support our unique needs.
The configuration options. They are not limitless, but there are more than enough ways to customize your experience, security/access, and workflows without touching code or hiring a developer team. This also means that when iCIMS updates its platform, your customizations are unimpeded.
No weaknesses, but some can say that with a highly customizeable system like this, it almost gives you too much, and too many options but i like it! There are some features that i question why they don't exist given how detailed everything else is, but overall the team at iCIMS seems highly receptive and adaptable to customer feedback. Twice during our implementation they even rolled out new features we had asked for.
When I reach out to the help desk or launch a ticket - it can be difficult to convey what the issue is due to language barriers. Small changes that have been suggested seem to go unheard - a specific example would be the interview feedback feature. It would be helpful to notify users when a feedback form is completed by a hiring manager - but this feature is still unavailable. We have to manually go back and check for feedback until it's delivered. This is such a small fix that has really been harmful to the credibility of ICIMS with my hiring managers. I supposed if I had to come up with a third dislike, it would be the inability to purge/archive certain items. For example, we have numerous offer letter clauses that need to be archived because they are no longer in use - since we don't have anything to replace them with - I had to relabel them as Z_Archived Z_Archived1 Z_Archived2 so that they aren't right at the top of the library and in the way when we're trying to select clauses.
Object level security is a great feature, but it can make some steps of configuring or modifying security a little tedious. However, I will choose this 100000x before I go back to blanket, wide-net roles and responsibilities. Worth the investment, just plan on taking your time to do it right.
