Market Presence: Integration Platform as a Service, Robotic Process Automation

Overview

Product Information on Power Automate

Updated 13th October 2025

What is Power Automate?

Power Automate is a software that enables users to streamline workflows and automate repetitive tasks across applications and services. The software provides tools for creating automated processes, integrating with various platforms such as cloud-based and on-premises solutions, and connecting data sources. It supports features like triggering actions based on events, managing approvals, and transforming data between systems. Power Automate addresses business challenges related to manual task management and process efficiency by facilitating automation of operations, reducing errors, and improving productivity through seamless connectivity among software solutions.

Power Automate Pricing

Power Automate software uses a subscription-based pricing model, offering various plans based on user needs, including per-user and per-flow options. Pricing is structured according to the number of users or the volume of automated flows, with additional charges for premium connectors and advanced features.

“Seamless Routing and Timely Notifications Improve Efficiency”

4.0
May 13, 2026
The overall experience has been pretty great. We bought this into the organisation to automate a lot of workflows that used to need heavy manual handling: whether it was chasing critical stakeholders between signoffs, a higher manager approving a discount for a contract, or someone in marketing pulling a trigger on if the material someone in the team has created (this is becoming more prevalant in the current AI driven material generation) is compliant with our brand guidelines and GDPR. Before the implementation, there was quite a lot of manual chasing involved, which led to a lot of delays. Now once the workflow is setup, walk the relevant person through what they need to check and where, and it runs seamlessly from there. Notifications land at the right time without being bothersome, which makes it handy working with sales teams who can actually engage with them rather than ignore them. Bottlenecks that used to depend on someone picking up an email at the right moment have mostly disappeared. not quite a megastar though, there is some scope of doing better like flows can at times fail quietly which takes some digging to figure out where it went wrong, but a small tradeoff in the grand schema of things. amazing tool.

“Power Automate still a great tool despite changes to UI”

3.0
May 6, 2026
Overall the product has been good in the past. There are many connectors for 3rd party softwares outside of Microsoft offerings. Lately they have put less time into development of Power Automate features though, which is disappointing, and there have been UI/UX decisions such as making much more whitespace than needed which make using the tool more difficult. Thankfully, the classic view is still offered as an option in many contexts, though I suspect that eventually they will move everyone to the new view.

Director of IT
Any Automation CoE's that centralized enterprise RPA (ex: UiPath or AA) and low-Code automation (ex: MS Power Automate)  platforms as part of their organizations?  What were the primary drivers for organizing this way?  Benefits?
Program Director, Intelligent Automation + Entrepreneur
I have tried to decentralize RPA, but it's really difficult since to build them you need a software development background, it takes a month of training, and you need to be continuously building to keep one's skillset honed. RDA on the other hand is great to democratize.

Efficient integration of complex applications and workflows using Power Automate

    5.0
    Jan 3, 2026
Power Automate has helped us automate repetitive processes and integrate workflows from different applications across our entire Microsoft infrastructure. This tool helps us efficiently reduce repetitive tasks that take many man-hours per week, and by automating them, human error is reduced to zero. During the automation process, we were also able to integrate it not only with Microsoft tools but also with third-party tools, allowing us to create more efficient and complex workflows.

Power Automate Simplifies Repetitive Workflows but Faces Issues With Complex Automations

    4.0
    May 7, 2026
I have used Power Automate to build RPA for many manual processes in my organization related to accounts receivables which were repetitive and time consuming. Overall, I like that the power automate has a user-friendly interface and the integration with Microsoft ecosystem tools like excel, outlook works seamlessly which is not the case with other RPA tools. But when it comes to complex automation, it lacks features and requires additional efforts and structured error-handling.

Power Automate efficiently allowed us to develop CRM like functionalities to action data insights developed in Power BI and delivered to the user via Power Apps. Being able to quickly test the value of data driven communications without having to scope a complex system integration with the enterprise CRM environment was a key enabler of agility.

Power Automate Likes & Dislikes

Like

Like I said in my larger review, removes the human error/human tendency bottlenecks: biggest one as the need to chase people significantly drops off, a signoff gets routed to the right person at the right time. saves hours off our week. Notifications hit a sweetspot, they are very timely without being annoying. when you work with sales teams more paperload is more work they do not want to do; so this really helps out rather than piling up with the rest of the noise: a big reason for its success. also lastly, its easy to onboard a relevant team member onto the workflow. just tell them where to check, and then it can run seamlessly.

Like

I like the quickness of being able to add steps without coding much. Configuration of the steps is pretty simple most of the time and they have enabled variables to allow for dynamic parameters, some (though not all) of the time. This is a big time saver.

Like

Power Automate's strongest point is the large number of connectors it has for integrating with different applications, which saves us man-hours in developing integrations with third parties. Another important point is the low-code work with which people from different areas who are not from IT can create their own automations.

Dislike

flows can at times fail quietly, like if a flow breaks somewhere in the middle of the workflow there is no direct communication about it. like say an approval didnt send out, i only at times come to know about it once they tell me they havent heard back. digging into the history to figure out everything in these cases takes slightly more time than it should. Then there are at times beyond basic templates times where if i introduce conditional brancing, or i start working with expressions; intuition narrows down. then i'd at times need to reach out to someone more knowledged about the product to piece it together. and also yeah, there is slight difference betweent he cloud and the desktop version. features at times behave differently, interfaces can mismatch and it is not always obvious which you should be building in.

Dislike

The product development has shifted from platform capabilities for makers to emphasizing costly copilot add-ons and marketing. UI changes have made the product more difficult to use due to more whitespace and less useful information easily accessible on screen, making it harder to see multiple steps of the automation at once. I opt to use the classic experience every time I use Power Automate for that reason, or use it within the PowerApps interface which still has the classic experience by default.

Dislike

One of the points we realized through use is that when flows become more complex, their management and maintenance become more complicated, which complicates the work when we perform traceability and error diagnosis.
