SAP CPQ Likes & Dislikes
What I like most is how quickly we can generate accurate quotes once everything is set up. The product rules engine is really strong and saves us tons of back-and-forth with sales reps. Another thing that stands out is the CRM integration data syncs smoothly and reduces stupid that used to happen before. Lastly, the approval workflow is flexible enough so we could shape it around our internal process without needing custom dev work. It just makes the whole sales cycle move faster.
1. SAP CPQ is customizable to your fit. 2. Integrations are very smooth. 3. Can put tasks on automation to save time.
The standout feature is the Attribute-based Configuration & Pricing Engine: Error-Free Quoting: IT is virtually impossible for a salesperson to build an impossible product. The system enforces strict rules, ensuring every quote is technically valid before it reaches the customer. Complex Margin Protection: I like how it handles multi-level discounting. It can calculate margins in real-time, automatically triggering approval workflows if a salesperson tries to give too high a discount. Seamless ERP integration: If you use SAP S/ 4Hana, the data flow is unmatched. It synchronizes products, customers, and orders without the data friction seen in third-party tools.
The main thing I dislike is that some parts of the interface still feel outdated and a bit clunky, especially when youre trying to build more complex configurations. Reporting is another weak spot it works, but its pretty limited unless you plug in extra tools. I also noticed that new users need more training than we expected, because a few settings are buried and not very intuitive. Lastly, performance can slow down when loading bigger quotes, which gets annoying on busy days
1. It's a bit expensive. 2. it works a little slow. 3. Integration with SAP was smooth but with infor, it was challenging.
High Administrative Burden: Making simple changes to pricing logic often requires specialized knowledge or a consultant. It is not user-friendly for a business manager to tweak without technical help. Implementation Timeline: This is not a quick win software. Setting up a complex Sap CPQ environment can take months of data mapping and rule-writing, which can be frustrating for fast-moving sales team. Legacy Feel in customization: While the modern Iron Python scripting is powerful, customizing the UI or specific behaviors can feel clunky compared to more modern, cloud-native CPQ startups.

CRM Integration and Approval Flow Praised While Usability Issues Remain Noticeable
Overall, the experience has been mostly positive. The system is pretty flexible and once you get used to the workflow, building quotes becomes a lot faster. The integration with our CRM also worked smoother than ציפיתי, and the approval flow really helped us reduce mistakes. On the down side, some parts of the UI still feel a bit “heavy”, and a few features are hidden עמוק מדי בתפריטים, so new team members needed extra time to get the hang of it. But overall it delivers what we need and improved our day-to-day work - Business Development Associate<50M USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Complexity and Integration Stand Out in SAP CPQ’s Feature Set and Limitations
SAP CPQ ( Configure, price, Quote ) is a heavy-duty engine designed for companies with massive product catalogs and complex pricing rules. My overall experience is that it is a highly reliable "calculation monster". It excels at taking thousands of variables-like discounts, regional taxes, and hardware compatibility-and turning them into an accurate quote in seconds. While the user interface for sales reps has improved, the backend remains a sophisticated environment built for technical administrators rather than casual users. - National Sales Manager50M-1B USDTransportationReview Source
Comprehensive Product Suite Noted, With Costs and Setup Complexity Cited as Drawbacks
SAP CPQ is incredibly accurate, not terribly hard to set up, and helps us across a suite of tasks with customization included, as well as automation. - BUSINESS DEVELOPERS ASSOCIATE50M-1B USDTelecommunicationReview Source
SAP CPQ Improves Pricing Consistency but Demands Internal Process Knowledge
My overall experience with SAP CPQ has been positive, especially considering that our organization is still early in the adoption phase. The system is clearly powerful and built for complex configuration and pricing scenarios, and I can already see how it will streamline our quoting process once everything is fully aligned. At the same time, the learning curve is noticeable, and the setup requires a strong understanding of both our internal processes and SAP's data structures. So far, it feels like a tool with huge potential, but one that demands careful implementation and cross-team coordination. - It Associate50M-1B USDConsumer GoodsReview Source
