Akamai API Security, previously known NoName, is one of the most complete platform for API Security and Governance on the market with detection, posture, and mitigation capabilities. After the adquisition from Akamai, the product seems to still have the same integrations with no native unification, the root cause being the grpc dependency.

My experience with this product has been strong overall, delivering reliable API discovery and real-time threat protection while significantly improving visibility into API activity across the environment.

My overall experience with Apigee has been quite positive, especially for building and managing APIs at scale. The platform is robust, secure, and integrates well within the broader Google Cloud ecosystem. We were able to standardize our API lifecycle, improve monitoring, and enforce policies effectively. However, the learning curve is steep for new users, and initial setup can feel complex without prior experience. Pricing is also on the higher side compared to some alternatives, which can be a concern for smaller teams or startups.

We've been using Cloudflare API Gateway in our production environment, and overall the experience has been very positive. It integrates seamlessly with the Cloudflare ecosystem, which helped us improve API performance and security without adding extra optional overhead. The edge-based architecture significantly reduced latency, and features like rate limiting, WAF integration, and bot protection worked reliably out of the box. However, observability and deep debugging capabilities are somewhat limited, and documentation can be fragmented in some areas. Despite that, it remains a strong choice for modern applications.
