UserTesting enables us to run moderated and unmoderated tests and validate new experiences by observing user behaviour via recorded sessions and collecting feedback on prototypes or live digital journeys. Instead of relying on the assumptions and experiences of the people building the features, we can quickly gather user feedback during design and development cycles by running targeted tests.

The ability to collect qualitative insights from real users without performing lengthy research studies is the best part about UserTesting. It becomes very useful in the early days of product/journey development or design validation, where UX/Design Teams can launch tests and receive feedback in a short span of time. Watching recorded sessions of users interacting with a feature or going through a journey and hearing them explain their thought process unlocks valuable insights that analytics would never be able to provide.

I don't want a single universal tool, I need the RIGHT tool sets for the right jobs. UserTesting.com does a great job in its space, but those test results and learnings need to be gathered and displayed for stakeholders in a cohesive repository because UX needs to prove its value to leadership on a regular basis. If we don't actively demonstrate the monetary value of testing and discovery, budgets are cut and so are employees.
