The biggest strength for me is the shift to event based tracking. It gives you clear visiblity of real user actions, cross device tracking and has strong integration with the rest of the Google platforms.
Read Full ReviewI like the ability to use an interface to interact with data, it's quite convenient. Being a multiplatform tool, I think Google analytics allows merging data from mobile and web, though we didn't use it that much.It could also be used by advanced non-technical people, which is not always the case with analytics tools.
Read Full ReviewIt was a bit of a steep learning curve to adjust to GA4. Iniitally the interface was not as user friendly and reports took a lot longer to build and pull together.
Read Full ReviewIt is complicated to use. So much so that an online course is recommended to use it, but unless you use the features regularly, you are still likely to forget how to use them. I have also found that it tries to be too clever, and has taken away the level of control found in previous versions. For example I have found data polluted with our own visits and bot traffic. Even after taking recommended steps to remove this, it didn't give me enough control to remove this, with help articles instead insisting that the system was clever enough to remove this itself.
Read Full ReviewDashboarding is not great in this tool and could be much better. Apart from the native dashboards, the custom reporting dashboards are also very badly designed. Generally, the custom reports interface seems to be done in a way that its not really usable, and it was better in Google Analytics 3 than in Google Analytics 4. The worst thing is sampling - when there's too much data, the interface is lagging and shows incorrect results based on a little sample. A user should not have to take so many steps to ask for unsampled data. The competition is much better on this.

Transition to Google Analytics Introduces Clearer Data but Steep Learning Curve Noted
Google Analytics is part of our day to day workflow and sits at the centre of how we understand website and campaign performance. Since the move to GA4 it took some time to adjust how we work with the data but now it gives a clearer picture of usewr behaviour across devices and platforms. - DATA ANALYST50M-1B USDSoftwareReview Source
Limitations in Dashboarding and Data Sampling Affect Google Analytics Performance
While Google Analytics is a standard tool used in the industry, it's lagging behind its competitors because it lacks features that they have. Interface is a bit outdated, and the database exports work well, but nothing outstanding. - MANAGER OF IT SERVICES<50M USDReal EstateReview Source

Built-In Training and Certification Can Help Ease Initial Learning Curve Challenges
Very useful product, but does require time to get used to. Worth doing the training, which is great that it's free and built in, and provdes a certificate which you can get if you pass.
