At its core, it is a highly accessible whiteboarding tool. I've seen even the most tech-averse users get quickly adjusted to it in large team activities. As a first party tool, it's incredibly easy to invite all meeting attendees in to collaborate on a board in-meeting, and to create and modify boards from both the Zoom app, mobile, and the web. But despite its simple surface, those who dig into it more will find an iceberg of deep features and integrations. Here are some of the most notable ones (assuming an Enterprise license). Unfortunately, I can't go into too much detail due to a character limit. -Admins can create and distribute Org-Wide Templates. There's also a wide variety of excellent templates built-in -Whiteboards work with a variety of Zoom Rooms Touch all-in-one devices (eg by DTEN/Yealink/Neat) -Supports flowcharts and mind maps, plus org-wide custom shapes -Includes frame features, with buttons to allow one to jump from frame to frame, which means you can make highly interactive experiences where collaborators can jump to different parts of the board for a variety of activities. Great for making something advanced like a C4 diagram, or creating gamified activities -Can function as a PowerPoint replacement with native presentation tools -Connects with Zoom's native Digital Signage, which runs on Zoom Rooms and standalone devices. This is huge! I have many offices set up with signage, and it was previously a serious pain to get people trained on uploading content to their monitors. But since a Whiteboard can be connected to signage now, people can live-update their signage via a board, so deployment of signage is now a cinch! -AI in whiteboards can generate entire templates from a single sentence, plus presentations, mind maps, stickies, and more!
Easy to access in meeting and display to all participants. Quick to find past whiteboards and share as needed.
Zoom Whiteboard is a highly intuitive tool that facilitates real-time visual collaboration. Its integration with Zoom allows for seamless transitions between meetings and collaborative workspaces, enhancing team dynamics, which is invaluable for training and development. Its ease of use enables rapid adoption, making ideation, planning, and decision-making processes more agile and effective. In our experience, it has improved our clients' experience and streamlined the work of trainers, boosting team dynamics.
It could use some tweaking, just like any tool. Zoom does fortunately update it frequently, and if you look at their release notes, you'll see amazing things get implemented on a regular basis. Here are the things I'd like to see. -Expand the Presentation functionality. It's fairly simple at the moment, and it's not capable of going completely fullscreen like a PowerPoint is. It could be an excellent PPT replacement if this gets fleshed out a bit more. -Make AI generation more powerful. Its ability to create templates and presentations (the most recently added features) is currently fairly rudimentary, so that could stand to be more intelligent. It would be great if it had more contextual awareness. For instance, if I could tell it create a presentation with a theme involving blue and gray triangles and outline all images with an orange outline of 4px thickness or something like that, that would be amazing. -I wish Zoom Workflows integrated with Whiteboards. Workflows currently integrates with Docs and Tasks, which is great, but there are many things I'd like to automate with Whiteboards. Though, given the visual nature of Whiteboards compared to the text-based nature of the other two tools, it may be difficult to implement workflow automation for Whiteboards. -The native Voting functionality in Whiteboards is a bit clunky. -Zoom Docs has the ability to automatically loop GIFs. I wish Zoom Whiteboards could do that. Currently, you have to click a button to cause them to loop. Though Whiteboards does integrate with Zoom Clips, which is really awesome.
I don't really see a benefit to using Whiteboard over other collaboration tools. Only one person can edit/control at a time, so how is it different from sharing a screen and turning control over to another attendee? Just don't have a lot of use cases in my meetings and webinars.
What I like least about the service is the support, the good thing is that I have needed it very few times
