Zoom as a collaborating tool is very effective as we use it in our daily lives to schedule meetings with our team members to discuss business plans and project related queries. During meetings we can share our screen to present the presentations to the client. It also supports marking on the shared screen by other attendees, which is helpful in pointing things out during a call. It also allows you to give control of your screen during a meeting, making other co-hosts in case the actual host is having any internet issues etc. which is really helpful in avoiding last minute issues during high value interactions with higher leadership as well as the client.
Clips is an excellent and quick video tool that can be manipulated by any lay person. It has been helpful when creating tutorials and other quick guides to post them for all to see in the Organization.
Standout features include the following: 1) AI features in meetings (like automated summaries are highly accurate and save time. 2) Significantly reduces app switching by combining chat, video, email, planning and room scheduling in one interface 3) Excellent audio and video reliability
The only thing I do not like about Zoom workplace is that it is very resource intensive as i have noticed that during long hours sessions on Zoom the laptops heats more than other activities. I have also observed that video calls take up a lot of internet bandwidth, causing other internet dependent apps to struggle with internet speed.
I think removing the License tier for all users to be able to host meetings was a step back for Zoom. At one point all users (even without a paid license) could host a meeting, however that ability has since been removed and now users can only join. You get a number of Basic Licenses which is calculated on how many purchased licenses you have. You also don't have the ability to purchase more Basic Licenses and would have to purchase more full licenses to get the Basic. Their support has also had some issues in the past. I have had several issues with support not being very thorough in answering or taking a long time to reach out.
Platform suffers from occasional feature overload. Specific marketing and desk-management capabilities feel slightly less mature than competitors dedicate to those spaces
