Overall this is a great product. We're a smaller company and Rippling has a lot of features that would be amazing for large organizations - we're just not big enough to need them or find value in them, but it's still great for a company of our size (~50 employees/contractors). We moved from our previous provider becuase they were completely changing their service structure and increasing our cost considerably. As the main admin using our HRIS systems, Rippling is by far a superior product and was less expensive than staying with the previous provider.

Overall the implementation has been difficult, there are lots of settings and permissions and hidden "rules" associated with things that don't come out until you're trying to use the platform. It is not at all user friendly.

    Password Reset Risks and Integration Issues Noted With Rippling’s RPass Feature

    I'm constantly impressed by Rippling as a whole, but the password management system and IT tools are very nice. I helped us pick out Rippling for our company, and we added on the IT bundle because we we're using a free desktop only tool for managing passwords and we were running into a lot of issues with that.

    My overall experience with Rippling has been positive. It simplifies payroll, benefits, and employee information in one place, making daily tasks easier. The interface is user-friendly, but some features can be unclear at times. Improvements when it comes to navigation, notifications and document location would be helpful considering the scope of the platform and all the tools it provides for a company as well.

    Incredible control and flexibility with timesheets and time off management!

    Rippling has overall been a huge upgrade for me. I used to have very minimal control of timesheets for employees, and couldn't override much so I felt stuck sometimes. I've felt much more freedom with Rippling Time & Attendance. Half of our employees are hourly, so this has been a great resource. The policies, customization, and management are all up to snuff. Employees get a clear expectation of their time tracking and time off, so they know exactly what they'll be paid for the period. And I get a high level few to make sure everyone has their hours in and are abiding to policies.

    My experience with Rippling has been good overall. The platform is user friendly and simplifies many HR and operational processes. I particularly like the centralized dashboard and automation features, which save time and improve efficiency. Also, features like onboarding, payroll visibility and centralized employee management have worked well and improved operational convenience. One area that could be improved is the occasional lag or complexity in certain workflows/settings, especially when troubleshooting or locating specific admin options. Overall, the experience has been smooth and productive.

Like

Payroll: it shows exactly what has changed for each individual from cycle to cycle, so I can easily flag any issues Reviews: Very easy to set up and to customize, and able to set different due dates for different aspects of the review process (and set different forward facing and internal due dates) Spend/Finance: Can't say enough about how nice it is to manage our credit cards, expenses, and reimbursements all from our HR platform. It's one of their newer offerings so there are improvements that could be made, but it's still a huge step up for us from how we were managing these, from both the admin side and employee user experience.

Like

The best aspect is our ability to pay EORs, US W2 employees, and domestic and international contractors in one place and have a unified source of data. The implementation with the international contractors was by far the best and went the smoothest of anything.

Like

I love how customizable the Password management is, (RPass). You can organize through folders, tags, departments and vaults. Each password can have its own sharing permissions which is incredibly handy when managing passwords for departments and team. You can mark a password as Marketing and set up rules so that anyone who currently works in Marking has access. Really nice. The other IT management aspect that I really love is when hiring a new employee, I can auto create accounts for Basecamp, Trainual, Microsoft, NetSuite, etc. So handy.

Dislike

The main issue we've encountered is in the Benefits module, and that we're not able to fully configure our medical insurance company contributions in the way that we want to. We've opted for a bandaid fix for now, which means that some employees' information is incorrect, and are really hoping that they make product changes before our next Open Enrollment cycle at the end of the year. Due to the contributions issue, I have to manually update payroll deductions. This hasn't been quite as smooth as it should be, and there have been some challenges getting the Benefits deductions area to correctly sync with Payroll. We've opted not to connect our company email with Rippling, and because we're not using that feature, it's not allowing us to enter work email addresses at all in individual's profiles. It's not a huge issue, but is inconvenient. Our implementation manager said that there should be a way to fix this, but our account manager wasn't able to provide much guidance so I haven't looked into it further.

Dislike

I dislike the lack of accountable human presence during onboarding and in customer service. I have not had one positive experience with the customer support team, and have been on hold for a literal 6 hour wait to try to fix an imperative issue. Furthermore, the only solutions that are ever given are references to articles or instructions from articles. There is no one on CS that does anything above or beyond telling you what to do from the text book answers or referring them to you.

Dislike

When you forget your password for Rippling or Rpass, and you reset it, you lose all of your RPass personal vault passwords. That's a huge risk! I've recommended to my team to save every password in the company vault and just be strict with the permissions because I would hate to spend hours putting passwords in and if I for some reason need to reset my password, all that work is gone. I understand it's a security thing, but I wish there was a workaround. Our Basecamp integration keeps disconnecting and not allowing me to reconnect. So seems there's a bit of an issue with syncing with certain integrations. I also wish I could have more vaults in Rpass. We have a lot of hands on our team so it would be nice for an extra layer of organization.
