    Good workhorse for a MSMEs team, but the learning curve is real

    We're a 90-person consulting organization and I personally use ActiveCampaign platform daily for drip sequences, contact segmentation, and tracking campaign performance. In this tool there is lot of options are there but specifically the automation builder is genuinely most powerful once you get the hang of it-conditional branching based on deal stage or contact behavior without needing a developer is really useful. Overall this tool is best for SMEs and MSMEs.

Our account reps and customer service team have been responsive and helpful. Reporting capabilities feel limited and more robust data insights would make this an even more powerful tool.

What we like most about ActiveCampaign is its automation capabilities. It allows us to create comprehensive journeys tailored to different types of users without complicating management. I would also highlight the segmentation options, which allow us to send more relevant and personalized messages. Furthermore, integration with other tools is quite simple, which greatly simplifies our work and eliminates unnecessary manual processes.

I use this tool a lot for my daily work activities but the automation builder is where ActiveCampaign really earns its keep. You can set up multi-branch sequences that respond to things like deal stage changes, open emails, click links, and list membership-all in one place. That flexibility would usually require a developer or a much pricier tool.

Dislike

One of the aspects we like least is that some advanced settings can be complex when you first start using the platform. Although it offers many possibilities, it's not always easy to find the best way to implement them. We also found a lack of clarity in some specific reports and metrics, especially when we wanted to delve deeper into certain analyses. Overall, these are minor details within a very comprehensive tool, but they are aspects that could improve the user experience.

Can't use our own fonts in the emails. Awful customer service. Worst experience of my career. We wanted to make a change in our plan before the billing. They said okay, kept us waiting until the billing period and then DID NOT perform the changes we wanted and charged what they wanted to charge. They said they would provide 5000 additional contacts for the trouble they caused. THEN they sent a payment link for the additional contacts.

Dislike

Here are some of the things that I dislike as per my observation. The onboarding experience is genuinely rough. When we first signed up, the interface wasn't intuitive at all and a lot of the terminology doesn't map cleanly to how most marketers think. It took us a good two months before things really clicked. Their help documentation has improved, but it still lags behind what you'd expect from a tool at this price point.
