As per my past experiance I liked the advanced segmentation and workflow automation triggers/Events. As I am currently working as in a marketing department as a manager, I value the logic-based 'if/then' capabilities that allow for a higher level of complex, multi-touch customer journey without needing custom code for every minor change.
The ease of use and initial start up made Mailchimp an easy in the moment decision.
The number of templates available, the user-friendliness of the software, the level of customization, and the thoroughness of the reports. I also appreciate that I can give access to several people within my team, so we can cooperate on certain projects. To conclude, I was also able to integrate it with other digital tools quite easily, simplifying my job.
I personally feel that the internal search functionality within the content library can be a cornerstone when managing more than 1000 assets. Additionally, while the main features are robust, the add-on modules feel overpriced for smaller regional teams compared to the base subsciption model. The customer support is need to more improve.
Mailchimp does not have the features for marketing automation that I would like it to have and. is difficult to connect to our other marketing automation systems.
I'm not a fan of surveys and the level of customization they offer. In fact, it's rather limited and basic.

Mailchimp has been, overall, a good tool for our email marketing needs. It has greatly improved the quality of our designs, delivery and analytics. While not an internal-focused tool, most of our needs have are focused on the internal user (employees) instead of selling to external customers, therefore the platform has a few, understandable shortcomings. Ease of Use Praised But Global Unsubscribe Limitations Noted in Mailchimp Platform
Mailchimp is a great easy to use marketing platform which is intuitive for users with or without email marketing experience. The only issue I have is that uploading audiences separately can allow users to inadvertantly bypass GDPR laws by resubscribing users who have previously unsubscribed from a previous audience. When a user unsubscribes it should be global, not just for the audience(s) they're part of at that moment in time
