I enjoy how granular you can get with assigning tasks, checklist items, and leaving comments. We were able to create task templates that could be easily duplicated within each client calendar/workspace. Having task statuses was a game changer for tracking progress with each of our clients, helping us determine stages of production and approval for individual posts. The workspaces were incredibly helpful for keeping clients separate, and still having the Everything tab to get a broad overview of overall workflow. CALENDAR VIEW SAVED MY LIFE.
Its greatest strength is basic project management - keeping lists organized and updating statuses. The permission settings allow for multiple stakeholder alignment and clear visibility across business units and functions.
Ease of task creation, assignment, and sharing. Working collaboratively with many teams. There are more and more AI features and automation is a game changer. Customizable dashboards: Each of my boards have different priorities in reporting / metrics, I like being able to swap views for each project, create page previews, and link to google drive. A centralized source of truth: keeps the team aligned and honest about progress. Ensures accountability and is easy to ping reminders.
-Some features got too granular and were not easily usable (checklists, lists and subtasks felt redundant) -A lot of notifications, even with the option to toggle which ones are recieved -Never got into the ClickupAI integration- very overwhelming
The adoption curve is steep for non-technical users and is not overly intuitive, which has made adoption by our team slow and ultimately unsuccessful to date. Assigning and billing of users is also unclear, as different levels of permissions and access are billed at various rates.
Inability to simply check a task off. It's a two step process every time I want to change the status of a task to in progress / complete. It's very unsatisfying to click once, scroll down to the completed status, and click again. Can drag and drop in the board view, but not the same. Whiteboards are a great addition, a free form play area to drop ideas and photos. However, they don't allow hyperlinks, which quite honestly makes it completely unusable for my needs. They've been saying for months they will fix it but that has not happened.
