Conga CLM Likes & Dislikes
Conga CLM stands out as a comprehensive platform that supports the full contract lifecycle in a structured manner. It enables teams to manage everything from contract requests and drafting to approvals, execution, and renewals within a single system. The Salesforce integration has been particularly valuable, allowing sales and legal teams to collaborate without leaving their primary working environment. Additionally, configurable workflows, reusable templates, and clause libraries help ensure consistency and shorten contract turnaround times. The centralized contract repository, combined with effective search functionality and automated alerts, has made it easier to locate agreements and stay on top of renewals and obligations.
Version control functionality, clause library, ability to create self-serve vs legal assisted workflows based on entered criteria.
There are many things which we like about the product. The following are a couple of them. 1. Contract type and versatility:- Conga CLM offers a great tool to manage contracts by giving the feasibility to choose from different agreement types like NDA, MSA, etc. This allows you to add your own contract types as well that fit best with your business use cases. This also allows you to define your own custom layouts for these agreement types that help you display the fields that serve the best purpose for your organization. 2. Clause and Template Management:- Conga CLM helps template and contract managers to manage their templates and clauses to ensure risk mitigation, proper auditing and versioning. Conga CLM offers support for multiple language templates for different languages and locales, supporting global business needs. It offers a centralized clause library to store your clauses in a single, searchable repository. This ensures everyone uses the latest approved language and reduces any risk of outdated or non-compliant terms being used in contracts. 3. Smooth Integrations: Conga CLM offers seamless integration with Salesforce, Office365, Power BI, different eSignature solutions and other enterprise systems. APIs and connectors allow users to work with their preferred tools and keep contract data synchronized across platforms. Detailed audit logs track every change, providing transparency and accountability throughout the contract lifecycle.
The biggest challenges were encountered during the initial implementation. Configuration can be complex and generally requires skilled resources or external support to set up correctly. New users may also find the platform challenging at first due to the number of options and settings available. Reporting and analytics, while useful, often need additional customization or technical involvement to meet more advanced requirements. From a pricing standpoint, Conga CLM may be a significant investment for smaller or mid-sized organizations that lack dedicated CLM or administrative teams.
Lack of consistent resources involved, resulting in significant gaps in knowledge, which often leads to duplicative or conflicting designs (i.e., a new custom object is build to address a need rather than leveraging a previously custom-built object due to the current resource not knowing about or fully understanding the original object). Also, the tool for template management (X-Author for Templates) and for redlining contracts (X-Author for Contracts) is very glitchy and not effectively built.
1. Sometimes the implementation phase can be challenging when you are a partner involved, but it often becomes smoother over time. 2. Sometimes documentation is lacking in some areas, but it is good that Conga offers great support that compensates the occasional documentation gaps and proactively works with internal teams to bridge the gaps in the documentation itself.

A feature-rich CLM solution with strong automation and Salesforce integration, offering long-term value but requiring careful implementation and expertise upfront.
Our experience with Conga CLM has been largely positive. The solution has helped us gain better control and transparency over our contracts while bringing consistency to how contracts are generated, reviewed, approved, and managed throughout their lifecycle. Although the implementation phase required careful planning and technical effort, the benefits became clear once the system was in active use. Features such as workflow automation, centralized contract storage, and obligation tracking have reduced manual work and strengthened our compliance processes. - Manager of IT Services10B+ USDTelecommunicationReview Source
Conga CLM offers enhanced usability and stronger compliance controls.
Conga CLM has enabled our Salesperson to perform and process the contracts almost independently. Thus, reducing the time investment required from other departments. Previously, a process that took days to ensure the contract meets all the compliances from other departments, can now be done in hours. Thanks to Conga CLM, end-to-end automation across the contract lifecycle. Data and information can be automatically passed between different operations and teams, thus saving time and effort. - Senior Mobile Developer<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
Salesforce-centric CLM that works well once stabilized, but requires careful setup and patience
Our experience with the vendor has been outstanding, particularly in how they supported our phased rollout. We are currently transitioning from our first primary use case to the second. While our organization initially faced some challenges due to a lack of legacy data and certain missing fields in our internal records, the platform’s flexibility allowed us to add the necessary mandatory fields and keep moving. The vendor's team was instrumental in helping us structure our data environment so we could maintain momentum without getting bogged down by our initial data limitations. - .net Developer<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
A Powerful Salesforce-Native CLM That Delivers Strong Collaboration, but Requires Careful Planning and Expertise
Our experience with Conga CLM has been positive overall. We use it primarily to manage complex contracts within Salesforce, and it has helped bring better alignment between our Sales and Legal teams. Sales users continue to work inside Salesforce, while Legal can manage documents in a way that fits their day-to-day workflow. That said, Conga CLM is clearly built for enterprise use. To get real value from it, you need well-defined internal processes and time invested in proper configuration. - Developer<50M USDSoftwareReview Source
Scaling Our Contract Operations: A Seamless Transition from Manual Tracking to AI-Driven Efficiency
Our organization needed a solution that could bridge the gap between our Sales and Legal departments. This platform provided a centralized environment where we could standardize our templates while still allowing for the flexibility required in complex negotiations. The implementation was structured and collaborative; the team helped us digitize our most complex approval matrices, ensuring that no contract moves forward without the necessary executive sign-offs. Since deployment, we have seen a measurable 25–30% reduction in our "request-to-signature" turnaround time.
