Our organization has been using CLMA since 2021, with users from 8 of our country affiliates (Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Philippine). Coming from the manual way of managing our contracts, the CLMA is a big leap towards our digitalization strategy. It has delivered our 4 key success factors after its implementation: 1. Standardized contract management process across the region; 2. Full visibility of contracts; 3. Automated approval/review workflow; and 4. Develop standard contract templates To date we have uploaded around 700 contracts (active and draft) in the system. Just recently CLMA has upgraded (aligning with Coupa Core) and we are happy with the improvements in overall user experience, ease of creating contracts and simplified roles and permissions.

The CLMA Upgraded version enables the following positive features: - Being fully integrated with Coupa P2P/Spend platform. Thus, it is easier to navigate, approve and monitor contracts. - Approval flow is visible to everyone. There is transparency as to the approvers and the status of the workflow. - Comments on the transactions/contracts are visible to everyone as well. - Drafting and approval of contracts are simplified.

Coupa's biggest strength continues to be its intuitive user interface, from both an end user and administrator perspective.

Dislike

1. Not on the CLMA product itself but the Coupa Support which we experience long lead-time in resolving issues. 2. The CLMA user manuals are not that detailed. But this is just a minor issue for us since we have certified CLMA users/practitioners. 3. It would be better to have Coupa implementation team based in Asia/SEA, so there will be no significant timing difference.

Dislike

Submitting invoices was a toilsome process due to the complexity and number of steps. Purchase orders were opaque and difficult to cross reference with other internal systems. Access control was not particularly granular and requesting access/escalating access had too many steps.

Dislike

With recent changes in Coupa leadership as a result of the acquisition, it remains unclear if the new team will be able to continue to be the innovative force in the P2P market, especially with the rapid and ever-changing pace of AI. Notably, the quality and timeliness of support has also diminished over the past few years.

Are there any commercial off-the-shelf products that can help in the bidding/tendering process? I know Ariba, Coupa can, but we are looking for a tool that can help oil and gas downstream companies with these capabilities, especially on the sales side than purchase side.

I am interested in seeing the results.  They may come into play as we continually look to improve processes and remove risks, as applicable.  The process we have are more manual and are in the form of templates leveraging Microsoft tools.  Previous employers (retail) used Coupa.

Among the various contract lifecycle management tools available in the market, what do you think of various options like Docusign, SAP ARIBA, Icertis, Coupa? With a dominantly SAP based landscape, which could be a more suitable one? Consider it's a long term investment.

We are about to start a tender process for this and going to attempt to use the Buy Smart functionality. We also have a SAP based architecture for our ERP however it is unlikely we will go with Ariba mainly based on cost and complexity.

    What stands out right away is the intuitive, consumer-grade user experience. Interface is very friendly and easy to use. It may be slightly confusing at first, although once you put your hands on it it becomes very clear what to do next. Good link between the negotiated contract and the purchase order process ensures we control the contract effectively.
