We started using Google Apigee around five years ago when we began moving towards an API-first-strategy. At that time, it helped us bring structure and security to our API landscape and allowed us to manage multiple APIs across different teams and business units more consistently. The platform's built-in tools for monitoring, analytics, and policy management gave us good visibility into API performance and usage. Over time, however, as our integration requirements became more complex and we needed deeper connectivity options, we decided to migrate to other product. Even though we are no longer active Apigee users, it played an important role in our API journey and helped us mature our overall integration approach.

Overall experience has been very positive. We have done a implementation of ebonding between 2 servicenow instances. One servicenow instance was a shared services domain separated and client moved from domain separated to their own standalone instance . However the client didnt wanted to stop the tickets creation in shared instance so the requirement of ebonding came between these instances. While doing ebonding we used WSo2 Api and use was very seamless . What a minute level of mapping of the fields were done . I was amazed to see the attachement API working so perfectly. No words to express the level of detail easy to use . I would recommend WSO2 API to everyone to keep the instance secure and mapping of fields intact , no surprises.

The learning curve was real in the first few months, particularly around RAML design and deployment models, but after that ramp‑up the team has been able to deliver integrations faster and with fewer “surprise” issues in production. From a business perspective, it has helped us expose internal capabilities securely to partners and other internal teams without building one‑off point‑to‑point integrations each time.

Kong team is pretty responsive to emails and followups. They have a good understanding of your product in general. Some advisors are more knowledgeable about our use case and are more helpful with that. Primary communication is from email, and things would go faster sometimes if it was Teams meetings or phone calls. Sometimes it would be helpful if they sought to understand more of what I was trying to do before providing an answer. A couple things were deprecated that we were using and I wonder if some of this stems from some startup growing pains of finding what works best.

It also has very strong security features with seamless integration with enterprise systems. But the initial setup of the IBM API Connect was a very difficult experience.
