The overall speed of Ramp is fantastic. I'm able to issue a digital card and make changes to the amount, while on the phone with a vendor and have it go through within seconds. The integration with NetSuite requires zero effort, and the changes in either system appear quickly as well. Whenever I need to pull information (receipts, statuses, summaries), it is already set up in a way that I can do so in such a short time and not have to piece together data from multiple locations. That saves so much time.
I appreciate their AI. Even though there is more needed from the product, I see it moving in the right direction. I also appreciate how agile they can be with feedback once it is given to the right person
Spending can be viewed in Real-Time as charges are made. Ramp also includes Artificial Intelligence that can review every transaction against our expense policy and make recommendations/determinations on if the expense should be approved. Employees no longer have to submit expense reports - simply add a couple of pieces of information when a charge is made and they are done. No more waiting for expense reports to be submitted. All charges are easily identifiable and with Ramp's text feature, attaching comments and receipts is super easy. Ramp also has a GPS tracking feature that allows employees to track business drives in their personal vehicles and then automatically submits the drive for reimbursement.
One area for improvement is the accuracy and readability of payment details. I have noticed that I'm able to highlight and copy the data from the invoice, but it would be even more efficient if Ramp could improve the functionality of automatically extracting and populating this information. Since I'm usually the one sending reminders rather than receiving them, it would helpful to have a configurable setting on the main billing screen to automate reminder notifications. Lastly, more detailed guidance when entering banking information for countries like India would be beneficial, as these setups can be more complex and require specific formatting.
They are behind on their international side. Japanese character pdfs are not visible in the system. The AI cannot understand that dates are different internationally and thus can't amortize from it. Mileage rates cannot be changed by the company to reflect agreements with employees. FX rates are fixed and end up costing employees money.
My main complaint is since this is software as a service, the product team is constantly rolling out new features and at times I don't have any visibility to those features until something unexpected occurs. It then becomes a game of figuring out what has changed and how to turn off the new feature.
