I love how CPQ allows you to add discounts and rename products as well as rearrange line items so they are in the desired order (I like mine starting with the most expensive at the top and the least expensive at the bottom).
It's Salesforce and that was a big part of the systems so it just worked. so regardless of competitors this made a lot of sense.

I am not sure if these are weaknesses of CPQ or just how my company has it set up. The areas that it could improve are around changing the length of the contract from multiple years down to one or vice versa, which can cause discounts to go haywire. The approval process is cumbersome - if you have it set up for VPs and SVPs to approve larger discounts, it is not streamlined and can sometimes take a very long time. Other than that, it doesn't take long to learn and it is very easy to create quotes and deliver them to customers. I guess the other shortcoming would be the lack of features available in the mobile app.
some updates to rules and processing felt slow and i equally dont like being stuck in salesforce because everything else is. that being said its reliable and everyone seems to get it.

SFDC is the Best!
My overall experience using SFDC has been exceptional. When you receive a lead from our website trial, it gives you detailed information. This is especially helpful when your Salesforce is linked to your LinkedIn Sales Navigator, which provides you with the correct contact information. I also created a dashboard that helps me understand how many were modified in our queue. I can see how many valid and invalid leads were modified. the product works well for CPQ.
