We have been a SCALE customer for over 10 years. As our school district has grown, so has SCALE (product features) as well as the implementation of our SCALE Clusters (to match our size needs and increases). In many situations and use cases in technologies, these types of increases have a cascading impact: More users requires more storage and processing capabilities; more capabilities requires more servers; more services requires more space; increased space requires more cooling... and so on. HOWEVER, with SCALE, this is absolutely NOT the case. Despite our recent 40% growth, our overall footprint, along with supporting resources has not grown in size and space. The SCALE technology is so efficient that we rotate to new equipment, which often consumes less space and resources. Think about this when compared to other virtualization resources: More of everything! If SCALE wasn't already the top provider, they are now making it possible for us to utilize some of our existing resources for scenarios where space is limited. Every year we attend SCALE Platform and come away energized knowing we have the best technology available to manage our district systems. SCALE is exceptionally reliable and we're fortunate to have the company as a partner to the district.

VMware vSAN is a very powerful platform designed for companies with a full stack hyperconverged infrastructure solution which can provide multiple features like virtualization, combined storage and infrastructure management in one platform. Because of VMware vSAN's reliability and scalability in the market, many companies use it. VMware also provides a centralized network management environment which helps IT department to easily monitor storage issues, virtualization matters and networking through a single dashboard. Overall, VMware vSAN's main focus is on storage, but it also works excellently with VMware's networking solutions like routing and other network related matters. VMware vSAN also provides businesses with an excellent feature in the shape of microsegmentation. This feature allows companies to create customized security policies for every person, workload, and virtual machine. It helps businesses save themselves from relying on traditional network level security.

We deployed StarWind Virtual SAN to provide highly available shared storage for a two-node virtualization cluster. The main reason we chose it was to avoid the cost and complexity of a traditional SAN while still maintaining high availability for our virtual machines. The deployment process was straightforward. especially with the assistance of the StarWind support team. Their engineers were knowledgeable. responsive. and proactive throughout the implementation. which significantly reduced the time required to go into production. Since deployment, the platform has been very stable. Replication between nodes is reliable. Failover testing has worked as expected and the solution has required very little day-to-day maintenance. Performance has been more than adequate for our workload. and management is simple once the environment is configured. One of the biggest advantages is the ability to build a resilient storage infrastructure using standard server hardware instead of investing in an expensive dedicated SAN. For small and medium-sized environments. This provides excellent value and a compelling return on investment. There are a few areas that could be improved. The documentation is comprehensive but can sometimes make it difficult to quickly find answers to specific configuration questions. Some of the more advanced settings also assume a solid understanding of Windows clustering, networking, and storage concepts, so less experienced administrators may face a learning curve. Overall, our experience has been very positive. StarWind Virtual SAN has delivered the reliability we expected while keeping infrastructure costs under control. I would recommend it to organizations looking for a software-defined storage solution for Hyper-V or VMware environments, particularly for two-node clusters where traditional SAN solutions would be difficult to justify financially. This aligns with common themes seen in other user reviews. which frequently praises its reliability, cost-effectiveness, and support quality while noting a learning curve for advanced configurations.

Before Simplivity, our backup and DR processes felt fragile and time consuming. Now, they're quietly dependable. Policy-based replication gives us peace of mind, and those sub-minute VM restores have been a lifesaver during maintenance windows. Our VMware admins adopted it quickly because it didn't feel like learning a whole new platform. Storage savings from deduplication were better than we expected.

Dell VxRails are used widely in our business for solutions via Virtualization and mass storage applications. They were extremely easy to deploy especially via the use of the IDRAC port. While in use, they are efficient, easily configured and have lots of customisation to fit multiple solutions into one device from a virtual point of view.
