Our experience with Lansweeper has been very positive. In our environment, it helps us maintain visibility of the assets connected to our network and keeps this inventory more accurate without requiring a lot of manual updates. The deployment was relatively simple. For the discovery process, we configured the tool to scan specific IP ranges and the relevant OUs in our Active Directory where devices are located. The discovery capabilities work well across different types of devices and helped us identify assets that were not always visible in other internal inventories. The two negatives that I'd share before going into the positives are not necessarily huge. However, they did affect my ability to work with the product and customize it. 1. Customer Service - The L1 technicians were often slow to respond and clearly used a templated response, without sharing knowledge of the issues among themselves. I'm not sure how this happens but there were a couple of instances where it took over a month to connect with someone who could assist in a troubleshooting session. 2. TAMs having varying skill levels - Currently, we have a Technical Account Manager who is very skilled in the product and also in the realm of vulnerability management. However, the TAMs have changed regularly before him, and the experience has been up and down. Qualys is pretty extensive, as well as being comprehensive. I would recommend having two or more well-versed operators in larger environments. Qualys also needs good planning, in order to make the most of what it has to offer. This would be done by way of already having a well-planned strategy that it is a part of. It's easy to get lost in the weeds. When configured correctly and in perspective of a good strategy, Qualys can be used to automate many important day to day processes and reporting. Again, though, Qualys needs to set up correctly. The JupiterOne security platform is good in dealing with the Integrations and asset of various sources that organize data in one single platform, the workflows and queries is much better to handle different vulnerability mgmt, incident response. The product also lacks in performance degradation as while fetching and querying large amount of data leads to slowdown the process and performance which consumes time. Jupiter one is not much good in remediation strategies as the built-in process is not better and requires external sources to handle and proceed.
